Reida knelt on the ground, putting together the drone while Evi held up the light for him. Thayu came up behind me. “It’s so cold.” Her breath steamed in the light of Reida’s screen. “Wait downstairs if you want.” But that was not Thayu’s style. She knelt next to Reida, helped him roll out three screens and attach them to each other. Deyu arrived as well and the three of them checked the camera and the engine on the drone. I hoped no one heard the whining sound it made. Then Thayu took the drone to the edge of the roof, and let it go. The whine of the engine vanished in the night.
