"They Walk With Me"

Erin grew up on a farm outside of a small town. The house where Erin grew up was very large and very old, the original portion had been built in the early 1850s then added onto over the generations. Erin's third great grandfather had started this farm in the early 1840s, and has been in the family ever since. Its 1981 and Erin is eleven years old, Erin was the youngest by way far, her closest sibling is a brother that's in college. Growing up Erin had to learn how to get along by herself, so at a very young age she had two make believe friends, but they were very real for Erin, so much so everyone around her looked at her in a peculiar way, always whispering behind her back, even her own family treated her different. Nobody was outright mean to her, they just kept their distance. So Erin retreated into the world with her two friends, both her friends were girls the same age as Erin, from a young age Erin had realized these two girls were dead spirits, these two friends very rarely said anything to Erin, in fact 99.9 % of the time Erin did all the talking, once in awhile she would ask her friends questions???? But they would never respond, one question Erin had learned early on had enraged the two friends, so Erin had stopped asking that question... The request was simple enough...What are your names??? People already thought Erin was strange enough as it was, but having two make believe friends without names was even worse, so Erin had made up a name for each girl...Ellie & Caley both spirits seemed to accept these names without cause... Close to Erin's farm at the crossroads on one corner was a very old spooky cemetery, across the road at the other corner was a small patch of woods, and hidden in the woods was a very very old school house, both places were strictly forbidden as off limits... Erin had always wanted to explore both places, it had occurred to Erin on numerous occasions even though both these places were very scary, Erin would think to herself...what should i be afraid of??? My two best friends are both ghosts, this thought always made Erin chuckle a bit... Numerous times Erin had gone to the edge of both places, but her two friends that would rarely say a word or show any emotion at all would warn Erin away from both places, and on each occasion that Erin attempted entry both her friends would always say the same thing..."We Will Always Walk With You...But If You Enter Either Place...You Will Walk Alone".... So this saying had always detoured Erin from entering either place, it was scary thinking about what lurked around in either place, but if Erin's two friends that were always around her didn't want her to enter either place, that thought always gave Erin a quick pause, of course the scariest thought for Erin was, if she did enter either place her two friends might abandon Erin forever, that is a thought Erin never wanted to entertain long... So Erin's go to place was a wide creek near by, where she loved swimming in nice weather... Erin could never get her two friends to swim with her, of course the thought could a ghost swim had occurred to Erin many many times, but Erin had never asked this question, in fear of enraging her two friends, so whenever Erin would be swimming Ellie & Caley would watch from the creek bank... One day while swimming Erin heard somebody approaching through the tree's on the opposite creek bank side from where here two friends were standing utterly emotionless, but this time both her friends were stirred by this newcomer into their world, Erin then turned around to face the stranger when she realized it was a boy her age, but he was not looking at Erin at all, he was staring directly at Ellie & Caley... Erin quickly thought how could this be happening??? It had never ever happened before... The young man finally set his gaze on Erin, shyly grinned and introduced himself...my name is Jody he said... Erin introduced herself then thought for second to herself, its obvious he is aware of Ellie & Caley, so Erin finally introduced them as well... Both Ellie & Caley normally always emotionless actually watched Jody with a sense of shock and disbelief, they didn't say anything to Jody just watched him... So from that moment on a quick friendship developed... Erin sensed everyday when they were together Jody wanted to ask something about Ellie & Caley, but he never did... One day Jody did ask Erin about the old school? Erin told him what she knew...one day Erin had actually overheard her Grandmother talking about the school, apparently two twin sisters had taught at this school, but even more odd was that one sister was blind and the other was deaf, so back in the 1800s they were considered one teacher because each sister offset the others disability, but as the story goes over the years both sisters started acting stranger every year until their behavior got them fired... A few days after getting fired both sisters were found dead inside of the school, they died under mysterious circumstances its said... After telling Jody this...Jody dared Erin to explore it with him, this time Erin decided she would go, why not she wouldn't be alone??? It was odd as they approached Erin was ready for her two friends to try and stop them but to Erin's absolute astonishment both friends said nothing just stood emotionless... Erin and Jody entered the woods, for the first in ever Erin had never been apart from her her two friends... As the school came into view Jody reached out and took Erin's hand, Erin could tell Jody was nervous or scared, but he was trying to hide it, as it was super creepy around this school, they had to pick a dreary day to explore this place... Erin hadn't told Jody the whole story about this place she had heard, parts of it he didn't need to know... Apparently after the two sisters were found dead in the school in 1881, they closed this school to never to used again, the people in that time said this ground was cursed forever now... The part Erin didn't really want to let Jody know about was that both these sisters had been Erin's great great grandfather's sisters, this fact she was too embarrassed to mention to Jody... As they approached the school from the side Erin felt Jody tense up, then he stopped dead in his tracks, without looking at Erin, Jody said something is watching from the windows don't look... Then slowly they walked around to the front of the school, as they did they heard the ancient front doors of the school slowly creak open... What Erin & Jody saw terrified them, it was two grown women hanging from the rafters but even more terrifying was two young girls that were maybe 5 years old, also twins were hanging from the rafters as well... As Jody and Erin looked on in shock all four opened thier eyes... Jody felt Erin pass out at this sight, he quickly picked Erin up and ran as fast as he could to Erin's house down the road... After arriving at Erin's house her father asked Jody what happened??? Jody told him, but the father was totally enraged by the end of the story, after a minute or so the father calmed down and looked at Jody with tears in his eyes and said...Now she is gone forever too... After that Erin's mother told Jody to go and never return, ever... When Jody got back to his foster home, his foster mom could tell he visibly shaken, after a few minutes Jody told his foster mom what happened... Then she told Jody a story. Erin has always been a strange girl, but that's for a reason, Erin was born a triplet, but one day Erin's two sisters about 5 at the time Ellie & Caley disappeared, when they were finally found they had been in hung in the old school... To this day nobody knows how it happened, why it happened, or who did it??? But theories abound... When Erin found out the truth that day at school, the little reality she clung too was forever gone... Now Erin lives on, but lives in a world all alone inside her mind... Jody never ever returned to Erin's house but each day wherever he went he didn't go alone Ellie & Caley Walked With Him... Jody Would Think To Himself "WHY DO THEY WALK WITH ME"...???
