Chapter 1 Am I the Other Woman?
"You're just a housewife, unworthy of me. Only the Empire's female general is my true love," Nathan Gomez said coldly, his gaze filled with disdain as he stared at me.
On the night of our wedding, Nathan left for the battlefield.
For an entire year, I devoted myself to taking care of his family, ensuring everything ran smoothly in his absence.
And then the war ended.
Not only did Nathan break his promise to love only me, but he also returned with Victoria Harper, demanding a divorce while subjecting me to constant humiliation.
"The comfortable life you're enjoying now? It's because Victoria and I fought on the front lines to protect the Empire. You should be grateful and step aside for her," Nathan said with contempt.
I laughed.
'Only good for chores? Not capable of competing? Fine. I'll show this scumbag exactly what the Empire's first general, who once defeated a million enemies, can still do.'

The Gomez Villa was brightly lit, the dazzling lights illuminating the entire mansion.
In the living room, Sarah Sullivan stood in a sheer white nightgown, her graceful figure outlined against the soft fabric.
Facing her, Nathan was dressed in his military uniform, a pistol holstered at his side. His sharp, chiseled features exuded a cold, commanding presence. His chest glittered with medals, symbols of his battlefield glory.
But his gaze carried only icy indifference. "Sarah," Nathan said, his voice devoid of warmth. "The king has issued his decree. Next month, Victoria and I will be married. She's the love of my life, and nothing will stop me from making her my wife."
Sarah's calm expression showed no sign of surprise, though a faint trace of doubt flickered in her eyes.
"After a year at war, General Harper crushed the enemy forces, earning unmatched accolades. She'll soon ascend to a prestigious position within the Defense Department, securing her place among the nobility," Sarah said evenly.
"Why would she tarnish her reputation by becoming the other woman? Isn't she worried about public ridicule?"
Nathan's eyes darkened with anger. "What do you mean, 'the other woman'? Victoria and I fell in love on the battlefield during the Vandenburg Campaign. Together, we saved the Empire and pledged ourselves… When we returned victorious, we sought the king's blessing to marry, leveraging our military merits. The king decreed that both you and Victoria are my wives. There's no such thing as a third party. If anyone's interfering in my relationship with General Harper, it's you!"
"I'm interfering with your relationship?" Sarah's lips curled into a mocking smile, her icy gaze piercing Nathan. "Have you forgotten what you told me the day before you left for war, on our wedding day?"
A year ago, they had just gotten married.
That night, Nathan made a solemn vow to Sarah. "I, Nathan Gomez, swear never to betray Sarah Sullivan. If I break this oath, may I be condemned by gods and men alike!"
Those words were etched in Sarah's memory. She would never forget them.
Who would've thought that in the end, those vows would turn out to be nothing but a cruel joke?
Nathan looked momentarily uncomfortable, but he quickly regained his composure. With indifference, he said, "We'd just gotten married, and the enemy had encroached upon our borders. I only said those things to comfort you. Honestly, if not for this war, I wouldn't have met someone as incredible as Victoria! Those words didn't come from my heart. Don't dwell on them, and don't bother bringing them up again. I've made my vow to Victoria. She's the only woman in my heart, and there's no place for anyone else—not even you."
At the mention of Victoria, a smile crept across Nathan's lips. "Victoria isn't like other women. She's the strongest, most capable woman I've ever met."
His gaze turned icy again as he looked at Sarah. "This isn't a discussion; it's a notification. Don't make a scene!"
Ha!
Sarah couldn't help but find it laughable. 'A notification? Who gives him the right?'
In that moment, her disgust for Nathan reached its peak.
Fixing him with her frosty gaze, Sarah asked, "Does your mother know?"
Nathan chuckled. "Of course, they know. Not only that, but they're quite fond of Victoria. They're chatting with her right now. They're all having a wonderful time! I've never seen my mom this happy before!"
Hearing this, Sarah found it deeply ironic.
Over the past year, Sarah had devoted herself entirely to the Gomez family.
Every expense of the Gomez family had been covered by Sarah.
When Nathan's mother fell gravely ill, it was Sarah who spent a fortune hiring the best doctors from around the world to treat Rachel Gomez.
Yet, not a single member of the Gomez family ever treated Sarah with respect.
Despite everything she'd sacrificed, Sarah never uttered a complaint.
And in the end, Nathan brought a third party into their marriage.
What an ungrateful bunch.
Since that's how things were, Sarah felt no attachment to them anymore. A sharp glint appeared in her eyes.
"Since Victoria is here, take me to see her. It's better to have some things clarified face-to-face!"
Without hesitation, Nathan refused. "There's no need. You spend your days doing housework while she fights on the battlefield, serving our nation. You two are from different worlds. Victoria wouldn't even tolerate someone as delicate as you. If you meet her, things will only get worse!"
Sarah sneered. "Nathan, don't forget—my father and brother were generals in the Empire. They gave their lives for this country, and I…"
"What do they have to do with you?" Nathan interrupted coldly. "Victoria isn't like you. You'll always just be a homemaker in her eyes. With her personality, anything she says to you will cut deep. Why embarrass yourself?"
Sarah let out a cold laugh. She hadn't even finished what she wanted to say.
Not just her father and brother—Sarah herself had been a general in the Empire.
She had once commanded the Defense Department, leading the Empire's army to crush a million enemy troops in just one month.
If not for her mother's dying wish and Nathan's heartfelt promises at the time…
Sarah would never have left the military to become a housewife.
But since things had reached this point, Sarah no longer harbored any illusions. Her gaze turned icy as she stared at Nathan.
"Let's get a divorce!"
Nathan froze, his eyes narrowing.
Sarah's tone was firm, resolute, leaving no room for doubt.
He couldn't believe his ears and thought he'd misheard. "What did you say?"
"I said, Nathan, let's get a divorce!"
Sarah remained unwavering, showing no hesitation.
Nathan frowned, clearly displeased. "There's no need for this. I already said, you and Victoria are both my wives! Acting like this will only make me lose the little bit of respect I still have for you! And think about it—without the Gomez family, you'll be nothing out there! You might not even survive!"
Sarah let out a cold laugh, raising her eyebrows. "Did you forget something?"
"What?" Nathan frowned.
"The Gomez family lost everything a year ago. All of your expenses have been covered by the money I brought into this marriage!" Sarah said coldly.
Sarah chuckled, a bitter smile on her face. Once they divorced, everything that belonged to her would leave with her.
Without her money, how would the Gomez family function?
"Sarah!"
Nathan's expression darkened, his gaze on Sarah filled with anger.
