But then, the Tibetan Mastiff tilted its head, eyeing Greig with a scrutinizing gaze. It sniffed the air, taking in the scent around him. To its surprise, it detected a familiar aura that matched its owner’s. Because of this, the dog's fierce demeanor gradually softened as it stood at a small distance, facing off with the little boy. Greig was startled at first, but being a child, he quickly calmed down. He looked at the Mastiff with excitement. “Easy there, buddy! Don’t be scared, I’m here to be your friend,” he said, carefully inching closer. Soon, he pushed open the doghouse door and approached the Mastiff. With enthusiasm, he reached out and rubbed the soft fur on the dog’s back. “Grrr!” The Mastiff stiffened and let out a low growl, but it quickly settled down again. Seeing this, Greig's courage grew. He boldly circled around to the dog's back and began to vigorously scratch its thick, fluffy tail. After a couple of mischievous chuckles, he pulled out a small firecracker he had hidden in his pocket… Meanwhile, Brandon Davis was kicking his legs excitedly, following the delicious aroma straight to the kitchen. Peeking in, he noticed that the place was empty. With a quick movement, he slipped inside. “Wow, what a huge kitchen! This is so luxurious!” Rubbing his hands together in delight, Brandon’s eyes sparkled as he eagerly scanned the room, taking in every detail. This big bad guy had a kitchen that was a bit intimidating, filled with exquisite and luxurious utensils. More importantly, the counter was piled high with delicious food. "Gulp!" He couldn't help but swallow hard, saliva almost dripping from his mouth. Excitedly, he dashed toward the counter, hands grabbing at the steamed buns with one hand and pastries with the other, stuffing his face with food. The sounds of munching were delightful as he devoured everything in sight. Before long, he was full, letting out a loud burp and patting his little belly, completely satisfied. At that moment, Brandon Davis finally remembered his mission to avenge his mommy. "Hmph!" Brandon gritted his teeth, a fierce look on his face. "This big bad guy dared to bully my mommy, so I'll whip up a black dish and make you choke on it, you little dog!" With his mind made up, he got to work. He dragged a small stool over, climbed onto the table, and began rummaging through various bowls, jars, and mysterious liquids, making a racket as he started his culinary chaos. Meanwhile, Lila, the only little lady of the Davis family, bounced in like a cute doll and slipped into Gavriel Mason's study. Inside, the decor was made from precious golden silk nanmu wood, exuding an air of nobility and grandeur. The walls were adorned with paintings from renowned artists, many of which were their final masterpieces. The shelves were filled with an array of rare antiques, a dazzling display of treasures. Lila tilted her head, a thoughtful expression crossing her youthful face. Before long, her eyes lit up with excitement. Rushing to the desk, Lila first grabbed a fountain pen from the pen holder, then made her way to the first famous painting hanging on the wall. "You bad guy for bullying my mommy!" she exclaimed, gritting her teeth as she began her wild doodling. In no time, all the masterpieces on the wall had been transformed into a chaotic mess, their original beauty utterly destroyed. After finishing her artwork, she tossed aside the pen and clapped her little hands in delight. Then, turning her head, her mischievous eyes landed on the collection of antiques nearby... Suddenly, a thunderous crash echoed through the West Mountain Villa, followed by a brief tremor and a thick cloud of smoke rising into the air. "Howl... howl..." Almost simultaneously, a Tibetan mastiff let out a mournful wail, its cries filled with unmistakable agony. "What’s going on?" In the living room, Gavriel Mason, sitting on the sofa, jolted, nearly spilling his tea all over his hand. With a cold glance, he turned to Matthew Carter and commanded, "Go find out what happened." "Yes, sir!" Matthew Carter replied without hesitation, quickly exiting the room. Before long, Greig and Brandon Davis, the two little troublemakers, were brought before Gavriel Mason. They looked utterly disheveled, especially Brandon, whose clothes were torn, face smeared with dirt, and hair singed. The little expression of grievance on the dog's face revealed a mix of lingering fear and terror. He had blown up the kitchen, yet somehow managed to escape unscathed—he was already quite lucky. At Matthew Carter's feet, a Tibetan Mastiff hung its head low, letting out deep growls while pacing back and forth in agitation. Its once shiny coat was now singed and yellowed from the firecrackers, especially its tail, which was bare and stained with blood, looking utterly pitiful. Gone was the usual air of dominance it carried. Gavriel Mason looked on in astonishment, staring at Greig in disbelief. "Did you do this?" "Absolutely!" Greig puffed out his chest with a hint of guilt but quickly regained his bravado. "Who told it to be so useless? Just a few firecrackers and it’s a mess, howling and jumping around. Hmph! What a disgrace." "…" Hearing this, everyone in the room couldn't help but smirk, their expressions a mix of disbelief and amusement. Did this little brat really just call the fierce dog useless? Was he joking? Usually, the Mastiff was ferocious, and aside from Gavriel Mason, no one dared to approach it, fearing they would be torn to shreds in an instant. "Argh, argh, argh!" As if it understood Greig's words, the Mastiff let out a series of discontented growls. At the same time, its eyes, filled with a human-like grievance, shot a glare at Gavriel Mason, as if to say that all of this was his fault. Gavriel Mason was equally taken aback, raising an eyebrow as he scrutinized Greig with newfound interest. Gavriel Mason knew his dog’s temperament well. There was no way he would let Greig get close. "Why are you doing this?" Gavriel asked in a deep voice. "Because you’re a big meanie who bullies my mommy!" one of the kids shouted. "Yeah! We saw everything! You made mommy sit on your lap and then you bullied her!!!" the other chimed in. The two little ones were not backing down, yelling loudly without a care. After hearing their innocent yet bold accusations, everyone in the room turned pale, their eyes wide with shock, filled with ambiguous and strange expressions. It seemed that this kind of bullying was something women everywhere would secretly wish to experience, right? Upon hearing this, Gavriel's face darkened, and he angrily interrupted the kids, "Enough!" Damn it, it was that annoying woman again. This was the last straw. These spoiled little brats, who had no idea how the world worked, needed to be taught a lesson. With that thought, Gavriel narrowed his eyes dangerously, a chilling aura radiating from him. "You two little troublemakers, let me think about how to punish you properly." In an instant, the air grew tense, and no one dared to breathe. At that moment, Greig and Brandon Davis finally understood what real fear felt like.
