Chapter1
Jennifer stood directly before her father, tears moving down her cheeks as she shouted at him.
You can't simply wed me off that way, I'm not some sort of property to be exchanged or sold!! I have sentiments and dreams of my own. I won't allow you to toss them in the garbage. Over my dead body, would you wed me off to some man because of your selfish interests?
Mr. Hank remained there, his face unconcerned, as he paid attention to her harsh eruption. With the search in his eyes, he wasn't in any way being moved by her outburst.
"Jennifer, you know how pivotal this marriage is for our loved ones. Your mother and I have previously talked and consented to it and the wedding has proactively been permanently established.
"I couldn't care less! I won't consent to this, and I won't wed somebody I don't adore because it is advantageous for you," she shouted, her voice breaking.
Mr. Hank moaned vigorously. "You're simply a childish individual, Jennifer. This isn't just about you, it is about the whole family and the future we as a whole have in front of us."
Jennifer was past thinking. She had never been a loyal little girl, yet she was defining the boundary now. She was not prepared to forfeit her satisfaction, mental soundness, and life for family obligations.
"I won't go through with this; God forbid that I be essential for this organized marriage," she hollered, crying.
Mr. Hank took a gander at her, his eyes miserable yet fearless. "I am deeply sorry, my dear Jennifer,” however, this is the only way it very well can be. There could be no alternate way." And with that, he dismissed and strolled, leaving her remaining there, alone and shattered.
Jennifer sat on the chair which was in her room with tears moving down her cheeks. Her dad was auctioning her off to save their family from failing and that's the way it was.
She was intended to accompany her sweetheart, David, this evening, to start a new life in a world of their own, away from the assumptions and control of both their families. Presently, those game plans have been broken.
She felt so deceived and loathed, by her father as well as by her sweetheart. She had let him know beforehand about the organized marriage and he had vowed to help her in getting away. Presently, he was mysteriously absent.
She attempted to call him. However, it was not going through. Her heart started to pace quicker as she got frightened that he planned to leave her.
The prospect of being hitched to somebody she didn't cherish and scarcely even knew was excruciating.
She had consistently longed for finding "the one", of being with somebody who cherished her for whom she was, not for any other reason
Now, those fantasies were gone and she was constrained into a daily existence she won't ever care about.
She cried until no more tears remained in her eyes and she sat on the seat in her room, feeling exceptionally broken and depleted. She then heard a delicate thump on her entryway.
"Jennifer dear, are all of you right?" It was her mom, her voice was loaded up with such a lot of concern.
She cleaned her eyes and sat up attempting to get it together, to act like all was well even if it wasn't. "I'm fine Mother," she answered.
Mrs. Hank approached and sat close to her on the seat, putting her hand around her daughter’s shoulders and pulling her in.
"I know that this is hard, darling; it's likewise unforgiving with us, yet your father and I are doing what we both believe is best for you, my precious jewel.”
Jennifer gestured, knowing she was correct.
"Yet again I simply wish things could get back to how they were," she said, as tears topped off her eyes.
Mrs. Hank embraced her tight. "I know, darling; however, sometimes, life can be cruel and wicked to us. We can't decide or pick what life brings our direction, and this is one of those times."
Jennifer took in a full breath and breathed out as she attempted to compel out a grin.
In her heart, she was bent on not proceeding with the marriage, despite what her mother was expressing to her.
Mrs. Hank grinned and kissed her brow. "You'll be fine, darling. Your father and I are here with you; you won't go through this alone,” she said.
Jennifer held on until her mother had left the room, then, at that point, she got a move on.
She quickly picked up the number of things she could, pushing them into a pack. Her heart hustled as she pussyfooted, making an effort not to cause any to notice herself.
She had decided to hang tight for David at the bus stop.
She actually couldn't contact him. However, she would have rather not accepted that he had deserted her.
She held on a little longer until the house was quiet to escape without leaving any traces whatsoever.
When the house was quiet, she opened the window and escaped.
She ran as quickly as possible, her heart dashing as she did as such.
She showed up at the bus stop and saw a vacant seat in a peaceful corner. She stayed there and sat tight, waiting for David to come and meet her.
Time passed by as she made an effort not to contemplate what could occur if he didn't appear.
She would have rather not pondered the truth of being constrained into a cold marriage.
Jennifer sat on the seat at the bus stop with her bag held tight in her arms as it also rested on her thighs, her poor heart loaded up with sorrow.
She had been certain to such an extent that David would show up; however, as the hours went by, it became clear that he wasn't coming, she had been abandoned.
She took a stab at calling once again, yet it wasn't reachable. She didn't have the foggiest idea what was happening. However, she came to comprehend that she was currently alone in this world.
Jennifer stayed there, feeling forlorn and lost. The skies started to obscure, and a light downpour started to fall.
Her heart broke appallingly and she wanted to shout out boisterously.
Just yesterday, he had promised me that we would escape together to begin life somewhere far far away. He promised that we were going to move far away from the troubles and pressure we had been getting from family and friends.
“He promised that it was just going to be us alone, conquering the big and wide world with our love,” Jennifer said to herself grievingly.
However, he was gone now without a solitary follow, and tomorrow, she should wed a savage man she never knew nor cherished.
She stayed crouched up under the increasing precipitation, crying harshly, with nobody to comfort her, she felt so deserted.
She knew neither what to do nor where to go so she just stayed there and let the weighty downpour wash away her tears.
