Shaded Oasis

Jasmine POV "It has been a long day in class today do you still want to attend the party, nathelie is hosting". I asked lily as we strolled back to our dorm. "Jasmine, you of all people know I can't miss one of nathelies parties, she's the IT girl and everything she does is top notch getting close to her might give me a chance to feel among you know". She explained sucking on her lolly pop. "Yeah I don't know , she's kind of a weird person to me". I said then lily turned towards me with a confused expression. " How weird?". She asked. " I don't know, maybe the fact that she always keeps to herself, and only moves with her crew, ginny and Helen. And out of the blue she's hosting a party at her house, doesn't that sound weird". I asked also fazed myself. Lily rolled her eyes before glaring at me. " You're such a party popper, do you have to see bad in everything ". Lily replied. " What, I just spoke my mind. I mean isn't that allowed anymore". I said glaring at her in amazement. " First of all, I don't find nathelie's attitude strange , it's normal for someone of her status, you should know that since you both aren't that far when it comes to status. I mean she's the second daughter of Jeremiah Salvatore,THE Jeremiah Salvatore. Well I see no reason why she would not have such attitude ". Lily explained and she was kind of right about it . " She's from a reputable family, but I still think she's weird. And we're not close when it comes to status at all, she's way out of my league, do you know, my dad has been struggling to close a deal with their company for a long time but failed". I explained. " I heard it's harder for one to secure a project from them than to get it". Lily said then I nodded in agreement. " Plus I heard nathelie's elder sister, jade is the new CEO of the company". " That's kind of interesting, I guess THE Jeremiah Salvatore isn't quite in shape to keep the company running". I said in an amused manner. " Yeah, yeah, laugh all you want , just bare it in mind that you're also going with me to that party". She said then I stared at her. " Why?. I don't want to, it's you who's interested in going not me". I said . " Well in case you're not aware, I would need some emotional support while I'm at the party, so don't see it as attending the party because of nathelie, see it as attending it because of me , cause I'll need some consoling once my plan backfires". She explained a she opened the door to our room. " But..... " " No buts. You're definitely coming , we have the same schedule so I know you're free for the rest of the week". She said and I had no more excuses to give. " By the way what plans were you talking about". I asked a bit curious. " Well, you know, plans, it's nothing serious , just means I could use for socializing". She said then I shot her a suspicious glare. " What?. It's nothing really". She said trying to convince me but my gaze never left her. " Ah, suit yourself, I'm off to go take a shower then get our dresses ready for tonight". She said before heading into the bathroom. Evening Time...... I was already done dressing up as I waited for lilly while applying my make up. " Wow, looking good". Lilly said as she walked in and saw me applying my make up. " Even if it wasn't my plan to attend this party, I still want to look good, you know". I explained putting on my eye liner. "Yeah, I see that". She replied. "Where did you go to". I asked out of curiosity. "I went to borrow a belt from Diane, cause neither mine nor any of yours, fitted my dress". " Oh!". I exclaimed. " So did you get one". I enquired. " Yeah I did, I'll put it on and see if it fits ". She said then I nodded as she put it on. "So, how does it look ?". She asked scanning my eyes with utmost eagerness in hers. "Well, can't say". "What?. You can't say. Say what , just tell me if it's good or not". She said shaking with tension very obvious in her face. "Alright, alright, calm down. You've never looked better". I said easing her tension. "Really!". "100 percent". I assured then she smiled squeaking a bit. "Why do you look so happy". "Because confirmation from you is just enough, you know how to find the beauty in things". She said . " Oh really, so I don't find the bad things in stuff anymore now do I ?". I asked then she rolled her eyes. " Oh c'mon, that was a phrase get over it already". She said waving it off then we both laughed. " Are you done dressing up?". " Yeah, I think I am , why?". I asked then she stared at me before pointing at the wall clock. " It's almost 10:30 and we're still in the room". She said emphasizing on the clock. " Is there a specific time meant for us t{ be there". I asked obviously trying to get on her nerves. " You bet your ass there is, now c'mon let's go ". She said as she dragged me off the chair . I stood and picked up my purse and phone as we left our room. 30 minutes later.......... >>>I'm>>ii I> When we arrived at nathelies place weo could already see the crowd present at the very enormous backyard of their mansion. I wasn't very good with crowds so I wasn't sure how this might go. I glanced at lilly who was squeaking in excitement. I couldn't tell why she was excited, but seeing her jarked up made me happy too. "C'mon". She said dragging me into the venue by my arm. Once we were in the main venue surrounded by people , we went to the bar stand to order some drinks. " You of all people know that I don't do crowds" . I told lilly after she had ordered our cocktail. "You don't crowds , not that you're allergic to them". She said then I rolled my eyes already exhausted from our thoughts. "C'mon, jasmine this is good for us. Ok, when was the last time we went out for any social gatherings". I asked then she shrugged her shoulder giving me no responds. "You see, all we do is stay in doors and study like we're gonna make a living out of it". "We are gonna make a living out of it". I retorted. "Yeah, right". "Drinks for the beautiful ladies". The bartender said giving us our cocktail drinks. "Thanks". Lilly and I both said in unison. "Hey". A random voice came from amongst the crowd. It was Jason , he's a third year student studying aeronautical engineering . I haven't seen him much so it was surprising seeing him in this party at this particular time. " Hey, Jason. What's up". I asked looking towards him , he nodded a little giving me a broad smile. " It's been a while, I haven't been seeing you around lately". He said before quietly shifting his gaze towards lilly. " She's with you?". He asked then I turned towards lilly before replying. " Yes, yes. She is, let me formally introduce you two. Jason meet Lilly, my bestfriend and roommate. Lilly meet Jason he's a third year student in aeronautical engineering". I briefly in produced then lilly raised her glass to greet Jason before facing me. " I think I'll get going now". " Wait ,now , where to?". I asked " I'm going to go socialize a little , have fun". She said mouthing those last words then took one last look at Jason before going into the dance floor. "So are you and nathelie close?". He asked out of the blue. "No. We're not, lilly just dragged me down here". "Looking this beautiful, it's good she dragged you down here". He said then he laughed, but I didn't find it funny so I just played along. " Cheers". He said raising his glass then I raised mine too as both glasses made a click sound. "Cheers". I replied. "Do you want to dance?". " Yeah, no. Don't feel like it". " Oh, but could you reconsider". " Jason!". I called. " No I insist". " But....." " Please reconsider, for me". He pleaded and nothing came out of my mouth. " Please jasmine". " Ahhhh, ok". I finally agreed still having second thoughts about it, but how bad could it be ,it's just dancing. I said to myself before taking his outstretched hand. " C'mon". He said then we went into the crowd and started dancing. Jason looked at me several times with a smile on his face, I just had to give him a smile back. To be precised I wasn't that into him. "Hey, Jason". A voice came from behind me and I instantly recognized it. Emily. f**k. She has been my arch rival since high school, she just doesn't want to let me be. " Wait, you brought jasmine as your date". She said glaring at me . I didn't even try to rub it in her face cause it wasn't that of a big deal. " I'm not his date we're just dancing". I replied her avoiding her gaze. She moved her gaze towards Jason before saying. " Then if she's not your date , can I be?". She asked him then I chuckled silently. What a desperate sassy b***h she is. " I'm sorry, Emily, but I already told jasmine to dance with me , it'll seem disrespectful if I just leave her alone....". "No, it's all good you can go with her, I was getting bored of the dance anyway". I said to him cutting him off. "Really, but we just started dancing". "She said she doesn't want to dance ,let's not force her,it's her choice, c'mon". Emily said her desperation reeking like a pile of trash. I'd rather let her do the work for me, I don't want to spend another second in this crowd. " No, I can't. ". Jason replied. "f**k". I cursed under my breath. Emily looked at me with envy in her eyes before saying. " Ok then, why don't we go to the game center, that way jasmine here won't be in the crowd since she's already getting bored of the party". Emily suggested, but my mind kept telling me that it was one of her traps. " Fine, let's go there instead". I said unconsciously. " f**k". I cursed under my breath after realizing that I just gave in to her demand. " Since jasmine has agreed ok then, let's go". Jason said then Emily nodded before taking us to the game center. "Trever". Jason called unto one of his friends when we got there. "Jason, my man, you're down to play some tournaments". " Sure man, let's do it". He replied before turning towards towards me. " Look I'll just play some games with my friends over there, I'm not that far, if you need anything please call me". He said then I smiled at him before replying. " I'll be fine , I can take care of myself, thank you". I said then he nodded before leaving. "I won't have any problem indeed except for one". I said to my self as Emily walked towards me. " Jasmine you sneaky b***h, you thinks you can have Jason, huh". " Hey watch your mouth, we both no you're better off a slut than I am". I gave her a piece of my mind as I said. She instantly gasped a bit angrily before saying. " We'll know who the slut is after today let's see if Jason will still be interested in you by then". She said then I laughed. " I don't care if he's interested in me or not, you can have him if you want, just leave me the hell alone". I retorted . " We'll see about that". She said before turning flipping her hair. " Hey guys, look who wants to join the game ". She said then everybody cheered me on. Fuck, I wasn't ready for this. What could she be planning. Few moments later...... We advanced to the first game. Which was to get the tennis ball in the cup, failure to do so one has to take a penality drink, I very strong cocktail. It was Emily's turn and she had lost 2 times already before getting a win, Oliver and some other guys played and now it was my turn. I won the first 3 rounds but later lost two times and had to take my penality drink. One hour later ............. After advancing from one game to another, I got seriously drunk and couldn't get myself up my feet's. I was literally wasted. "What to do?. What to do?". I asked myself asi managed to get myself up to my feet after several times of stumbling. I smacked my chest to prevent myself from vomiting as I decided to go find lilly. "Lilly". I took two steps as I shouted . I became very cautious of my steps as I leaned unto the wall for support. "L-lilly" I called yet again and suddenly I felt a wrap round my waist as the figure took my other arm and placed it on its shoulders. " You're looking for lilly, why don't I take you to her". He said then I turned to look at him as my vision blurred for some seconds before giving me the full image of the person holding me. " Jason, w-what are you doing , h-here. Are you not s-uppose to be at the party". I asked in between hiccups. " I just wanted to assist you". He said then I squeezed my browls suspiciously before pulling myself out of his grip. " Y-you don't have to assist me, i-i can w-walk on my o-wn". I said leaning against the wall again as I began to find my way. " No let me help you". " No!". I said raising my finger as I declined. " I'll do it myself, thank you". I replied then suddenly he swept me off my feet and carried me in his arms. "Hey, put me down, put me down right now". " You shouldn't be too stturbon jasmine, you know what I want". He said then I saw him smark as my vision became blurry. I closed my eyes and use the utmost strength I have to push him away as I landed in my butt. I whimped in pain as I got up and cleaned myself up. " Stop jasmine, where do you think you're going". He said as I took steps further away from him until I landed in to extremely cold hands, which made my body shiver . I slowly lifted my gaze but before I could see the face of the person. My vision became blurry as everywhere turned dark. I literally passed out.
