Chapter 7The Trio came by my place that night to say I didn’t have to go on the last three dates. I assured them I was up for helping at the soup kitchen, refereeing the teen shelter’s basketball tournament, and walking dogs at the pound. I liked the fact each of these was less artificial than the dates I’d gone on before. My female friends were sorry they couldn’t come to the Friday or Saturday night events, but assured me they’d be there for the animal shelter on Sunday afternoon.
