Chapter 2

1280 Words
Pete dived into the water. He swam without taking a break as he finally reached out to Aurora’s body, which felt frozen. Eleanor watched restlessly moving side to side. Aurora had never been a good swimmer. Why then did she have to go into the deep part of the water? Pete gently laid Aurora on the ground as he kept his arms straight and leaned over her. He pressed down hard to the third of the depth of her chest. He pressed her chest about thirty times and gave her a rescue breath. He was about to give Aurora the second rescue breath when Aurora exhaled. Eleanor and Pete let out a sigh of relief. Gently they helped Aurora to her feet, guiding her every step. ****** “Help me! I need help please!” King Orion pleaded with a young lady passing by. She wanted to help him but he was far away. “Where are you?” The Lady asked, stretching her hand. “You have to help me, I am here.” The King screamed. The lady looked closely, she saw a beast take out its hand. Out of fear, she ran out of what looked like a cave. King Orion woke up panting. He had always had this dream of being trapped in the cave ever since he murdered his father. And there is always this lady who wants to help but gets scared whenever his claws and furry hands show up; perhaps she doesn’t know he is a beast. King Orion searched his dark room with his eyes. He could feel the darkness inside of him. His wolf was always in a rage. He glanced through the beast sculpture in his room; that was him, a beast who lived in darkness with no soul. The King is drained. This dream always made him hungry for blood. He desires the blood of people on his sword. He walked straight to his sword, the same sword he killed his father with and the woman he loved. Out of rage, the king stepped out of his room. The guards standing by the door watched him leave as the King had warned them severely not to move with him. It was already dark and midnight. He left the castle on horseback and rode as fast as he could. He got to the Earth Pack, his eyes blazing. “Kill them all.” The beast in him commanded. “Yes, kill them.” His wolf supported him. The King, who was already blood-hungry, began battling the warriors protecting the pack. He is immortal and a beast who cannot be killed. His fangs and claws dissected his opponent’s bodies. After the m******e, he heads back to Darkwood Pack. He wasn’t satisfied. His soul wandered as he felt the calmness that enveloped Darkwood pack, the pack he ruled and domineered. The king noticed a swift movement and went in the direction of the sound. “Stop!” The king commanded the young lady who was running. Aurora stopped immediately in fear. Turning to the direction the voice commanded from. “Good mor…...” She stammered, adrenaline flowing through her body. “What are you doing here?” The King asked, stunned, recognizing her to be the young lady he met the other day. Aurora looked closely. It was the man she met at the pool. For a while, she felt safe but not so safe. Tears welled in her eyes again. The King dropped his sword, as he moved closer to her. “Why are you crying and what are you doing here?” He asked gently, taking a thorough look at her face. “I came to clear my head, I wanted air and distractions,” Aurora mumbled, still fidgeting. “Is it about the question you asked the other day?” King Orion quizzed. “Yes, I will be getting married to someone I don’t love. He is not my mate, but I don’t have a choice,” Aurora explained with tears. “Let's discuss it next time we see each other. I will go to the pool at sunset. Wait for me there, but for now, go home already, it’s late.” The king consoled her as he retreated from her. Aurora bid him adios and walked away while the King watched. ****** “We have to bring in the witches,” Sylvia said to Oscar in a whisper. Their hands interlocked. “My love, I will feel at ease the moment Aurora steps into the castle. Until then, it’s not safe.” Oscar explained gently. “Hope my daughter is doing well?” Oscar asked, grinning. “Annabelle is fine, I just can’t wait to have us take over the entire pack and live together,” Sylvia responded. “We will. When the curse is broken, we will kill the King and the werewolves in the pack too. For now, the King is immortal,” Oscar explained. “How did you know all of this?” Sylvia queried. “Aurora’s mother was the moon goddess. She told me everything about the King. But she lost her power and place when she agreed to marry me, knowing fully well that I am a wizard, and kept it a secret from the werewolves.” Oscar explained. “So, she gave her place up for you!?” Sylvia asked in awe. “Yes, she loved me so much she forfeited her position as the moon goddess to be with me,” Oscar said with a smirk. “So foolish of her,” Sylvia said in mockery. “But I am now fully yours, my love. You own me and I own you and we both have nothing to lose.” Oscar flattered. “That’s a better one, my love. I love you too and we will conquer.” Sylvia replied excitedly. “Uhm...Let’s meet at sunset at the usual spot, it’s not safe out here.” Sylvia suggested, her eyes wandering through the surroundings. “You’re right. Have a nice day baby.” Oscar concurred as he planted a quick kiss on her lips. Oscar goes home to see Aurora in tears. She will be taken to the King in two days. “Aurora, how are you preparing to see your husband?” Oscar asked indifferently. Aurora sobbed harder, not knowing what to say. She was enveloped in grief. Her dreams of meeting her mate had been altered. “I am asking you a question, Aurora,” Oscar said in rage. “I don’t want to marry him, father. I need to find my fated mate like every other werewolf and feel loved. This is so unfair to me.” Aurora sobbed, tears flowing freely down her cheeks with her face peppered reddish from too many tears. “Count your losses and move on. The King will have you,” Aurora assured. “I’d rather die than marry the King,” Aurora dared. Oscar unbolted his belt and whipped Aurora. He needs to remind her that he owns her. “I had to bear the burden of taking care of you bastard. Your mother was my worst mistake and every day I see you; I get reminded of how foolish I was. You can only pay me back by doing whatever I say.” Oscar’s voice thundered. Aurora wailed, running to every corner to avoid the whips, but she was unfortunate. She reached for the door and tried to run away but Oscar put his leg in her way. She fell and hit her head on the ground. “Aurora!” Oscar called out when he noticed she wasn’t breathing anymore.
