Chapter 16I woke up to my phone ringing. I groggily looked to see who it was. It was my mom.
“Oh, s**t!” I quickly answered. “Mom!”
“Where are you? The ceremony is in two hours!”
“I’ll be right there.” I hung up and ran over to Morgan.
“Wake up! I forgot about my graduation ceremony!” For some reason she wouldn’t wake up, body limp, mouth hanging open. I put my hands to my head and looked around the room in desperation, and decided to just go on foot. I sped out of the room, bounded down the stairs and out the door, and ran all the way home.
I dramatically burst through the front door, breathing heavily and putting my hands on my knees. Mom, Dad, and Jacob were all sitting in the living room looking at me incredulously.
