Tracy's POV
A knock came on the door.
“Tracy, are you ready?” Maria's voice came from the other side.
“Yeah, give me a sec!” I called back, closing my book and setting it aside.
I grabbed my shoes, and headed out.
*How was your first night?” Maria asked as we walked towards the building exit.
I shrugged. “It was fine, I guess.” I glanced at her sideways. “Why do you ask?”
“This place feels off,” she yawned. “I couldn't sleep a wink last night.”
“Probably the change of environment.”
“Yeah,” she muttered.
Beta Gideon was already outside the building by the time we got out.
“You're two minutes away from being late,” he said, after glancing at his wristwatch.
Maria and I exchanged glances but said nothing, and quietly joined the others that were already there.
