PROLOGUE
The last she remembered was the cries of her baby.
After 48 hours of quiet rest, she woke up to soft light and silence.
Her beautiful little girl slept peacefully in her cot beside her
Her husband Leo was smiling down at her, thumb brushing her knuckles.
Katy frowned,"where is the second".
'which second?,' Leo asked confused.
Katy's heart dropped.
FLASHBACK
"You are pregnant with twins," Grandma Mae had said eye glowing in the firelight,"hmm, Girls".
"How do you know that Grandma,"Katy laughed
"Don't underestimate the world of an elder, dear child".
"C'mon Grandma, I'm not, I'm just curious.
Grandma's face went serious. She pulled a small red box from a secret compartment beside her bed and pressed it into Katy's hand .
"The child you carry will be the heir to the family legacy,"The Moon goddess beloved ".
"Diego has a different path to follow. He will protect them".
"But remember-their fate lies on each other.
No matter what happens".
Her grip tightened.
"You must present this gift on their 18th birthday. On the eve of that day during the full moon, the moon shall unite as one... and they shall fullfil their destiny as the moon chosen".
Those where the last word Grandma spoke before she passed.
END FLASHBACK
"That's strange," Leo said softly, checking the hospital records. Based on your scan...you only conceived one baby girl not two".
Katy shook her head,"Grandma has never been wrong in any of her prophesize, there must be a mistake".
"This is a twist".
Eight days later, they dedicated the newborn on the family alter to the Moon goddess.
Smoke and prayers. Wolf howling in the distance.
She was named after her late grandma, Alison Jackson.
The second crip stayed empty.
The red box stayed locked.
And 500 miles away in a rogue camp, another baby girl with the same.
birthmark was given another name.
Alicia.
No one knew yet.
But fate had already started counting down.
18 years.
One box.
Two sisters.
And evil was listening.
