Chapter 8

595 Words
It was a few days after the death of Rhea Fletcher. The news spread like wildfire and once a heartwarming town became a crime zone. Most people left as it felt unsafe for them and their children. I was raised and brought up in this town. I couldn’t leave it. I feel like that would be a felony against myself. It had been a week since my promotion to Sargent. I stare at my name tag Sargent Audrey Lowe. I stared at it so long I thought it was gonna grow arms and smack me in the face. It was quiet in the station as we were still looking for leads on X but it seemed as X was quiet now. Maybe we could take this as some down time. With that being said I scrolled through my phone bored out of my skull I stumbled upon a gofundme for the fletcher kids. Apparently the community was raising money for them. Since they lost both of their parents and now living with their aunt. That must be hard I thought to myself. I scrolled past it but then stopped of course my guilty subconscious would want to donate. I scrolled back up to the gofundme and donated 10 bucks. I mean hey at least that was something I mean I couldn’t imagine loosing both of my parents at a young age. I mean well I lost someone my husband Shawn but ya know what I mean. I stood up and stretched my legs. I guess it’s time for lunch. I looked back at my name tag “Sargent Audrey Lowe’s” for some reason that didn’t sit right with me. I couldn’t bring myself to think why but I guess I’ll let it go for now. I made my way to the cafeteria where the other officers were. Hey Audrey! I looked over seeing a dark black haired man waving me other. It was Eric who was one of the K-9 units he aided most patrols and he was very helpful about it. He was best friends with Tristan and seemed like those two have known eachother forever Millie said to Officer Robbins. Yeah I think they both went to summer school together when they were younger or something. Apparently they both had dreams to work on the police force Officer Robbins whispered to Millie. Aww that’s so sweet Millie said thoughtfully I bet they weee cute as kids. I can’t wait to tease Tristan about this later. He’s so tough and badass he needs to chill. “Look at me I’m Tristan I don’t care but I care secretly” Hey! Tristan said in mock offense. Tristan jumped out of his chair and chased Millie around the station. Everyone laughed as they watched Millie get chased by Tristan. But not everything was as peaceful as it seemed (Meanwhile) It was broad daylight and Oliver was alone making dinner today was a good day for him or so he thought. X Lurked outside his home waiting to strike But something stopped him. This person looked like Audrey but it wasn’t her. Was he thinking things or was this real. Was he hallucinating or not? X grumbled ugh focus X just take out this person you did it before. Once he got his bearings together he snuck through an open window Turns out Oliver wasn’t that bright oh well his funeral. X snuck in and went for the kill Thud! Bye bye Oliver oh what a shame oh well no cares The lights clicked off Silence
