When Angels and Demons Collide

Chapter Three

*Keller POV*

“I will tell you everything if you calm down and let me explain.” Onyx said, walking over to the couch and sitting down.

I took a deep breath in to calm down and followed her over to the couch. “Okay I am ready to know the story.”

“Our story begins long ago, twenty years in fact, there was a prophecy about three siblings. It is rare that the Fallen are ever blessed with more than one child if any at all. The prophecy went like this,

Unto a Fallen couple three shall be born.

These three shall have powers none have seen before.

The fate of the world will fall upon them.

Divided they shall fail, but as one shall prevail.

No one knew if the prophecy would come true and if it did when it would. Most ignored it but one had other plans. He wanted the fated powers to himself and figured if he could capture the three Fallen when they were young, he could take the powers for himself before they could defend themselves. He began his search but came up empty.

Little did he know a few years later a couple was blessed with three children. Fearful that he would come to harm their family, they came up with a plan to split the children up. The male child was to grow up as a human in a human town. One of our strongest warriors would raise him and protect him. The two female children would grow up separated but knowledgeable about the Fallen prophecy. When the time came the eldest female child would be tasked to track down the male child. Once found, explain to him our history and the prophecy, and to then prepare him for the war that is sure to come.”

Keller sat there trying to absorb everything Onyx just said but wow that was a lot. After a few minutes I decided I had some questions, I just had to find the courage to ask them, Keller thought to himself. He was not even fully sure he wanted to know. After another few minutes went by Keller finally spoke.

“So let me get this straight. You are saying that I am that male child from the prophecy and that you are my sister? Not only that but I also have another sister as well?”

“Yes, Keller I am. Our sister’s name is Ruby. She is 20 years old and has beautiful long red wings. I am 24 years old and as you have seen in your dreams my wings are a midnight black.”

“Your name is Onyx, and you have black wings. Her name is Ruby and has red wings. I assume that I would also have wings, not that I ever knew that before now, but my name is Keller what color wings would I have? I mean Keller is not even a color or for that matter a stone.” Keller said while pacing anxiously.

Onyx giggled slightly at Keller’s mild panic over the potential color of his wings. “Keller calm down, there is more to the story. When our parents had a warrior take you to be raised it was from birth. Our parents did not name you nor did they know where Trina would take you. Actually, Trina is not even her real name. I assume she changed it to help hide both of your identities. We know her as Alessia. As soon as you were born, she was tasked to take you away. Before our parents even saw you or held you. To hide you amongst humans and to give you a nice human name. It is rumored that when a fallen parent holds their child for the first time that they get an image in their head of what that child will look like when they are older and have their wings. That is why Ruby and I have the names we do, our parents named us after our wing colors. No one knows what color wings you will have or the powers you will have.”

“If no one knows, how do you know that I am your brother and truly a fallen? What if I am just human and I have no powers, no wings? Plus, if no one knew where Alessia, as you call her, took the baby boy, how did you find me?”

“Keller you ARE that child from the prophecy. The fact that I found you is proof enough. We will figure out your powers and your wings soon but not today. We have to wait until your 17th birthday for that. I found you because of my powers. One of my powers allows me to enter the dreams of the person I am looking for. In that dreamland I can see you and what you look like. Also, since you choose the location of the dream, subconsciously of course, it allows me to see local landmarks. All of this allowed me to find you.”

“My birthday? Why do we have to wait until my birthday? Plus, my birthday is over 6 months away. From what you have told me it seems like we do not have that kind of time to wait.”

“On our 17th birthdays we get our powers and our wings. That is why it was imperative I find you before your 17th birthday and tell you who you truly are. Also, your birthday is actually in a couple weeks. I assume Alessia also changed your birthday to help hide you.”

Onyx could feel that this was becoming too much for Keller. “Well, I do not want to burden your mind with any more details tonight. Get some rest and if you have any more questions or need to talk just let me know. Before you ask, my dream link is always open for you all you have to do is just think about me in your dreams and I will come and answer any and all questions you have to the best of my abilities. Goodnight Keller.”

I watched as Onyx walked out of my room. Distantly I heard the front door open and close. I laid down in my bed and just thought for a few minutes before mentally exhausted I fell asleep.
