Unwanted mate

chapter 5 , oh great

    I was super nervous for the rest of the day and all of my afternoon classes went by in a blur. as soon as the last bell rang I headed out to my locker to grab all my stuff I was going to need for the mountains of homework,  the hallways was super crowded now that school was over and everyone was super excited for the game tonight. as I looked around at the other students I finally noticed that everyone was in school spirit wear . aka school colors , varsity jackets and the girlfriends of the football players were in their boyfriends jerseys . Not sure how I missed this or how everyone knew to wear school spirit gear on the first day of school, not like i would have anyways but I still felt hurt that my own sister did not bother to say anything, as I neared my locker i noticed that there was a small crowd standing around it. I immediately felt uneasy, considering the fact that no one from my pack ever went out of their way to talk to me unless they were planning on making fun of me or giving me a hard time so this crowd was probably not a good thing . 

    As I got closer i noticed that Eleanor was in the middle of the group that was standing around my locker. "Tina ! hey I've been waiting for you, I need your help figuring out what we are going to wear tonight and also this is Emily , I don't know if you know her or not but she says that she wanted to come with us tonight" Eleanor was beaming with excitement , I looked over at Emily I had never actually talked to her before, even though we had been going to school together since kindergarten , Emily gave me a not so nice sneer brushing her black pixi cut behind her ears  , she really needed to either get it cut or let it grow out I thought to myself. "oh sure that sounds cool, you guys want to go grab something to eat before we go to the game or you want to get something there" instantly turning red as Emily choked back a laugh, "huh, Tina are you sure you are not planning on eating before and after the game " Emily jeered at me , I felt myself turning even redder. Eleanor looked annoyed and guilty as she shot me a look, "sure! I think we should probably get something before we get to the game , I am sure there is not going to be anything that great to eat at the game anyways " Eleanor was obviously trying to sound cheerful. 

    Trying to brush off Emily's comment and make the best of the situation, I really did not want to hang out with Emily, even though we had never spoken I did know that Emily was one of Tiffany's friend and more then likely going to tell Tiffany anything I say or do so that they can make my life even more miserable . I really also wanted to talk to Eleanor about that guy who was at the sushi place at lunch and the super odd feeling I got , plus the way that they other girls acted towards me , really now being around my own pack mates it was even more obvious how odd they had acted towards me . they are supposed to be from a rival pack , why would they not take the opportunity

 to make fun of me or just be plain rude to me like everyone else seemed to be . I was lost in my own thoughts thinking about the whole lunch situation, when I snapped out of my thoughts to see Eleanor looking amused that I had zoned out . "hey are you coming or what ?" I smiled at Eleanor happy that she seemed to be annoyed at Emily for being a b**ch to me . I was glad that someone else finally saw how these people wear treating me and would not think that it was just me being a baby. 

Once we made a stop at Eleanor"s locker to grab her books Emily got a text and said she would meet us later at Eleanor's house to get ready and grab something to eat before heading to the game. I finally felt comfortable to ask both how the talk with my cousin went, I assume well since we were going to the game and to talk about that guys strange response. Rounding the corner to head to the front door there were still small groups of kids hanging around probably making plans for tonight, we made our way out the doors into the warm afternoon air and walked down the stairs , every time i leave for the day I feel like I am escaping some sort of monster that is going to grab me and pull me back inside halls and I will be trapped forever. strange I know, " Sooooo, I guess you and Roger had a chance to talk then hmmmm?" I could not help but ask in a teasing tone . Eleanor blushed " yup I guess we talked and hung out for awhile , he is actually nice " she added looking at me from the corner of her eye, I could tell that she felt bad about thinking my cousin who loved to give me hell was a nice person, I decided that since she had not immediately

  decided not to be friends with me after hanging out with Rodger I would try my best to not let it bother me . " just do me a favor and be careful Eleanor , he might seem super nice but I grew up with him and have seen him go through a ton of girls, I just do not want to see you get hurt, I really hope that he is different with you"  She gave me a knowing look , " yea I know I am just wanting to get to know him, I don't know I just feel like pulled to him , I can't explain it really , like I need to be around him" she looked embarrassed to admit that, I of course was instantly interested in her feeling because I had the exact same feeling towards the guy at the sushi. place . " soooo , I thats actually what i was going to take to you about , I had almost the exact same feeling towards a guy at lunch today, he was from Drake , but it was so weird he was with two cheerleaders and they actually were not terrible with me , I don't know it was just kind of odd."  Eleanor was instantly perked up when i mentioned that I had met a guy. " you met a guy" ? Eleanor immediately asked super curious . "ummm , I did not really met him . I mean he almost ran me over on my way to school, and then at lunch I saw him again and had this super weirdo feeling towards him, like I needed to be around him, buuuut I kind of think he did not have the same feeling or he did feel it but did not seem too happy about. the feeling ."  I felt kind of bad like the disappointment I had felt had come back .
