Chapter 2

204 Words
I met Austin in college. I chased him for a year before he finally agreed to be with me. What can I say? Austin had that face. I'm a sucker for looks, and I was hooked at first sight. But the sweetness barely lasted six months before his childhood sweetheart, Daisy, showed up and shattered everything. Daisy was his childhood sweetheart from the same city; they grew up together. Later, Austin got into Bay University and moved to Southgate, and Daisy followed him—she enrolled in a different school. Ever since she arrived, cracks started forming in my relationship with Austin. Every time we tried to eat out, go shopping, or watch a movie, she insisted on tagging along. I complained to Austin, but he always took her side. "Daisy's all alone in Southgate. She doesn't have any friends. Cut her some slack." "Daisy just likes you, that's why she always wants to hang out with us." "There's nothing going on between me and Daisy. Can't you stop being so petty?" I swallowed my frustration again and again for the sake of this relationship. But Austin forgot that everyone has a limit. And honestly, my temper was never that great to begin with.
