DREW'S POV: “Don't you think you are going overboard?” Ava asks in a shaky and hesitant tone. My eyes roll to her figure, and I can't help but smirk at the nervousness rolling off her in waves. She looks pretty as always, but her inability to move completely over to the dark side dampens her appeal. “With what, Ava?” I ask in a taunting tone and with a tight smile on my lips. “Kidnapping those girls. My source said one of them is his wife.” Ava says in a warning tone. “Good. I want him to suffer.” I say through gritted teeth. “Robert Lincoln is just a business rival. He was once your friend! Why are you making this out to be more than what it is?” Ava asks in a whiny tone. Before I can stop myself, I move towards her with speed, my hands wrapping tightly around her throat. I watch her struggle for a few minutes, her hands slapping at mine around her neck before I finally lose my grip. “I see you still have your little crush on him. Be careful though, remember who has been in your corner all this while.” I say in a seething tone before shoving her away from me. I can't help but feel a slight twinge of guilt as she gasps for breath while clawing at her throat. She has a hurt expression on her face, and I can't help but sigh dispassionately. “You are mine Ava. My fiancée. Act accordingly.” I say dismissively as one of my men steps into the large game area. Ava picks herself up from the floor and with a bitter look on her face, she storms out of the room. “They are here, Boss.” He says in a respectful tone. Just what I need. “Good. I will be there in a minute.” I say in a smug and satisfied tone as I start chalking the tip of my cue. Snooker has never been this appealing. ________________________ SARAH'S POV: I squeeze Beth's hand tight in mine and a yelp escapes my lips as the car hits a rather nasty bump on the road. The men who pushed us into the back of the van all turn towards me, and I can't help but cower in fear. Oh god!! What did we do to get here? Where are they even taking us to, and are we going to leave there alive?! “Where are you taking us?” Beth asks in a shaky tone. I turn towards her with shock and fear all over my facial features, as I try to signal her to be quiet. Beth however does not spare me a glance as her gaze remains locked on the men sitting across from us. The men barely spare her a glance, talk less of responding. My muscles relax when it becomes obvious that they won't harm her for being so audacious. “My friend sitting right here is the wife of Robert Lincoln. He will track you all down and ensure that you pay for taking her!” Beth says in a more bolstered tone. My eyes widen to a point that I fear they might fall out of my face. Oh god!! Beth is going to get us killed!! The first man's lips widen into a full smile and then he starts laughing. The other men join in, and soon, the sound of their deafening and raucous laughter fills the van. I try to calm my palpitating heart as I choose to take this as a good sign. Maybe they won't shoot us in the head after all. “This pûta thinks we care about who she is.” w***e. One of the men says with a sneer on his lips as he glares at us. “Save your threats for when you meet the big boss.” Another man says, his words heightening my fear. “And when he's done with you, I will have you for myself. That's if you are still alive by the time he's done.” The third man says with a lewd smile on his lips that almost makes me lose my consciousness out of fear. Beth squeezes my hand tighter, and the full severity of the situation finally dawns on me. We huddle closer to each other as we try to block out the leering gazes of the men, and also give ourselves the comfort that we both obviously need. The van eventually comes to a stop, and the back doors are pulled open and we are rushed out of the van. The men push us into what seems like an old warehouse, and we are forced into a corner. Just then, a door at the back is pulled open, and someone steps into the light. “Drew?!” Beth says in an enraged tone. He's the one behind all this?! ___________________________ ROBERT'S POV: “Sir!!” My secretary calls out in an alarmed tone as he runs into my office. My brows furrow in confusion and mild irritation. What the hell is he doing? He knows I'm not to be disturbed when I'm working. “Speak.” I order as my hand hovers over the document in front of me. “Your wife and her friend,” He starts in a shaky tone, his nervousness intensifying. “They have been kidnapped!” He says finally. A disgruntled sigh escapes my lips and I drop the pen on the folder in front of me. “Fire all the guards that were on duty.” I say in a harsh tone as I rise from my desk and head towards the minibar. I pour myself a drink and I swallow it all in one go. I don't need these kinds of distractions. Maybe I shouldn't have offered her the marriage deal at all. “Call in Josh.” I say after some time. “Okay, sir.” He says before stumbling out of the office to my bidding. Maybe I should cut my losses and pull out now that it's still early. My plans have been destroyed. There's no way Drew Davenport will fall for their antics again. “Track the ring.” I say to Josh the moment he's in the office. Josh nods and immediately gets to work. It was foolish of Drew to even attempt to steal that ring from me. I installed a tracker in it the day ownership was transferred to me. I couldn't take any chances. “They are in an abandoned warehouse just at the edge of the city.” Josh says as he looks up at me. “Round up the men, let's head there.” I say to him as I walk unhurriedly towards the door. Drew Davenport will wish he never messed with me. _______________________ SARAH'S POV: “Why would you do this, Drew?! We did all you asked!!” Beth says in an enraged tone. “Stop f*****g lying to me!! You told him my identity!!” Drew practically screams at her, and she recoils in fear. Oh god!! I got us into this mess!! I shouldn't have told Robert anything. But it's too late now. I have to do whatever it takes to save us. “This is going too far, Drew. We were forced to. He was going to harm us if we didn’t comply.” I try to explain in a calm tone. “And you thought throwing me under the bus would be the perfect solution?!” Drew roars at me, and I can't help but shake my head frantically. “He isn't going to come after you, Drew! And that's all that matters!” Beth says in a hasty tone as she tries to placate him. “Well that's not enough for me. You both are going to pay like I promised!” Drew says as he pulls out a gun and trains it at us. The first gunshot is a loud searing sound that destabilizes me. Blood pools on the ground and my eyes widen comically. Who has been shot?!!!
