Chapter 11 When Jake pulled into his parking space in the lot behind his building he sat for a long moment, scanning the area. While he didn’t believe Fabian would be hiding somewhere, waiting for him to get home so that he could attack him, he wasn’t taking any chances. Finally deeming it safe, he got out of the car. He was annoyed when the security light didn’t come on as he approached the back door, but not terribly surprised. That happened often enough that some of the tenants had complained to the manager, who promised to do something about the problem. So far, he hadn’t.
