Chapter 10

"Good morning students, we have a new student joining us today." The new student walked in and my eyes widen. No way! It's Jake Evans but why is he doing here? We have 3 months left for school. "Hello everyone, I'm Jake Evans." He moved to London about 5 years ago and now he's back? We rarely talked to each other but our families are close. "Okay, Jake. You can sit behind Cassie. Cassie, please raise your hand." I raised my hand and when he saw me, his face lit up and quickly walked to his seat. "What the?!" He said and I turned to him. "Long time no see!" I said and he hugged me. We've always been close when he's here. "How are you? Still with the.. wig?" He whispered and I nodded. "Sit down!" I hissed and he chuckled. He sat down and smiled widely. "Katherina Locks." He teased me, he always teased me for it. "Okay, find a pair students. We'll be working on a project together." "Let's be a pair." Jake said without asking. He just dragged his table beside me. I can say Jake is pretty similar to Cole. He's a jerk and an asshole, yet so handsome and charming. The difference is that Jake is nicer and Cole is not. "I want you to make a miniature of DNA with anything you can find. Please be creative and don't even think about making stupid things. The due is in two weeks." My teacher said. "I can go to your house and make it there. We can play games too." He said and I chuckled. The rest of the lesson was boring and lunch time has arrived. Jake and I walked to the cafeteria together and he put his arm around me. I'm used to it. "I have news for you." I told him as he looked at the menu. "Wait! You want to eat or just juice?" He asked and suddenly Cole appeared pulling me towards him. "Hello girlfriend and.. who the f**k are you?" He asked Jake. "Girlfriend? Cassie, what the-" "Who are you?" Cole asked cutting Jake. "He's my childhood friend, Jake. You can go." I said to Cole and pushed him away. I stood beside Jake again. "So you want to sit with me?" Cole asked. "No, thank you. I'm sitting with my friend." I said and Cole looked at me coldly. He decided to walk away and leave me alone. "You need to explain that." He said as he gave me a bottle of juice. He bought a burger for himself. "It was a dare to ask him out and he said okay so the whole school knew about it. It's not a big deal." "So what's the news?" "Next month, I'm going to walk on a fashion show in New York." "Cherice will be there?" I rolled my eyes. He always liked Cherice, he thinks she's the prettiest. "Yeah." "That's great!" He hugged me and patted my back. "Cole is going to kill me huh?" "What?" "He looks like he wants to murder me." Jake said as he buried his face to my neck. "Ignore him." "I think he likes you." Jake blurted. "I'm Cassie now.. not Katherina so.. he won't." "I'm a guy, I know things like this." He chuckled as he pulled away. I smacked his arm. "You bring your car?" I asked. "As always." "Yes, I have a ride home from now on." "Ugh." He rolled his eyes and I laughed so hard. We both sat together and Cole came out of nowhere sitting beside me. "Girlfriend." He smiled at me. "I'm not your girlfriend." "Technically, yes you are. You were the one who asked me out." He said. "What do you want?" "Biology project." He said and I rolled my eyes. I turned to Jake. "We hve our own partner." I pointed at Jake. "But I don't have one." "Why? I already have on and my partner is Jake." "You're her partner?" Cole raised his eyebrows looking at Jake. "Yes, I am. Why? You're not even in the same class as her." Jake held my hand and winked. What is wrong with these two? "She's mine." Cole said as he grabbed my hand pulling it away from Jake's grip. "Stop it you two." I pulled away from both of them and I sipped my juice. "This is why you fainted last time, how many times do I have to tel-" "You fainted?" Jake cut him. "You two are so loud." I stood up and walked away. Jake followed me and wrapped his arm around mine. "I'm pretty sure that he likes you." He chuckled. "Not funny, Jake." "I'm going to watch your show." "No." I stopped and glared at him. "What? Why?" He looked at me confused. "You're not there for me anyway." "Oh? You're jealous?" "I'll be there to support you and have a bonus for doing it. How's your family by the way?" He asked. "They're doing great." I said as I stopped st my locker to grab my books for my next classes. "Let's go." After school, I put my books back into the locker and walked out from the building. "Come on." Jake was already waiting for me. "Okay." I said and I jumped when Cole suddenly came out of nowhere. "Cassie, come on." He said and I looked at the two of them annoyed. "I'm going home with Jake." I said to Cole. "No. You already promised me." He said and I raised my eyebrows. "Since when?" "When you promise someone, you need to fulfill it. I'll see you at home, C." Jake betrayed me and I swear I'm going to kill that guy. "Come on." Cole said and he walked first. I followed him and he got into the car first. I turned to see Jake smirking at me from his car. "Hop on!" Cole said and I got into his car. "Who is he?" He asked. "My childhood friend, I told you that." "I don't like him." He said bluntly. "Well, I don't need your opinion on that. I don't really care if you like him or not." I said as I put on my seatbelt. "Don't get too close." "Yeah, doesn't matter." I said and the car turned silent. I turned to Cole slowly and he's already looking at me coldly. "What?" "I'm your boyfriend." "It was a dare so-" "Fine if you say so. From this second, you're my real girlfriend. My first girlfriend and I'm not taking no for an answer."
