"yes I will take it, its perfect". Standing in front of the dark green coloured truck the salesman took out the papers of his clipboard. Circling where to sign with his pen before handing it to me. All those summer months at my uncles garage made me feel confident on signing. This car will definitely break down during this trip, however nothing that a woman on her own can't do or fix. With much confidence I sign the papers, handing them back to the salesman. "Well congratulations. Its all yours now. Here are the keys and you are good to go." With a huge creaking sound the door opens. Throwing my backpack on the passengers seat I leap behind the wheel. My mom would have loved this car. Green is her favourite color, the color of nature and life. Putting the keys in the ignition I check the mirrors before turning the keys. I can see clear dark circles under my eyes and my short brown hair has become all fuzzy. Not even 24 hours have passed since I landed and I have already bought a second hand car and was bound to set off. My first stop should definitely be a nice bed. With this in mind I put my foot a bit too hard on the gas pedal and the car took off in shocks. This always happens. I want to look like I know what I am doing. Driving off with confidence. Instead I look like the girl who just got scammed into buying a car that wont even make it till the end of the road. And who knows. Maybe I did actually get scammed. Fortunately I make it till the end of the road, the turn and then the next road up to the highway. ------------------------------------------ "Can I get your cheapest available room?" "Of course sweetie, would you also like some company as well?" "No, just the room." He puts the keys in front of me. "That will be 40. I can give you the company for free, on the house." Placing 40 next to the keys I grab the keys and walk straight to room 203. Paying no further attention to the flirting receptionist. My bag lands with a thud on the floor. Kicking the door with my foot closed I jump onto bed. A warm shower would do me great but my body feels too heavy to get up. Not only am I tired, but I can finally rest from all the stress of traveling and finding a car within my budget. Not to forget all the stress I left behind at home. Back home my parents never understood why I had to travel or get out of our hometown. But they always supported me, also when I left town to live abroad following this guy I liked. I expected my life all to work out in some way. Instead I found a roadblock in finding a job and the stress that came with that. My boyfriend did not make it easier by saying. "Lena, why aren't you working on your future. OUR future. If you don't I won't either." Even a common job wouldn't be good enough for him though. It was never enough. Everyone wants to achieve as much as possible, but maybe its not all meant for us. I want to find my thing and me. No matter what that will bring with it. Tired to explain myself, I did what I did best. Run. "I love you. But I have to do this for myself. I will be back in 2 months". Those were my last words to him. Or actually in a text. I was that much of a coward. To disappear with a text and a lie. Because I am not sure if I will return in 2 months. Maybe it will be 5, or never.
