The ride

Austin POV After a fight with Noah at home. We came to the conclusion that until we come to a solution to fix this I won't be staying at home. Actually its now completely Noah's home only. I haven't figured out yet where to go and set up the new Alpha house. Im thinking about turning the small cabin into a real liveable space. It will take a while though, instead of living in my human form from my car. I have shifted to Gilroy for a couple of days.  Staying besides Lena all the time. Making sure Noah doesn't come to hurt her in some emotional state. But also because every inch of me wants to stay next to her, protect her. We still haven't caught or seen the rogue that attacked her and Olivia. But everyone of the pack is slowly noticing her. As I of course aren't at the place I normally could be found. A lot of pack members have been asking about my whereabouts. Slowly explaining it to most of them, they are visiting one after another to see her. Their new Luna who doesn't know about their existence yet. Under the pretence of them playing and coming to see Olivia. They now know how she looks and how soothing her voice sounds. I have also warned them, that nothing changes about Noah. He still deserves the same respect as always. Nothing changes in our hierarchical order. For now...  Lena POV "Hey Olive." I sit down on the veranda looking how Olive brushes the coat of this brown wolf. While Gilroy lays down in front of my feet. He almost covers my whole view of Olive and the woods.  It has been a couple of days since I last saw Austin. Maybe its for the best. I can count it as one glorious slip up from my side. Not having to make choices, its sometimes easier if others make them for you. I have not contacted or heard from Jess or anyone else back home. Honestly I don't mind.  I have been spending my days with Conan at the clinic and here with Olive . Watching and admiring how she plays with the wolves. Gilroy always besides me. I quickly got used to his presence as he doesn't leave my side. The first nights he came inside Conan's house. It looked like they didn't mind it. As if he was just their family dog but just a really huge one. At first he slept in front of my door. The first morning I had trouble opening the door, to find out he was laying in front of it in a deep sleep. Basically locking me up inside. To make sure that didn't happen again I kept my door open. At first he stayed at the door step. But as I started to feel more comfortable around him, he started to sleep next to my bed. I have been growing attached to him. I reconsidered taking him with me. Thats just crazy though. He is huge and not some stray dog that I can take home from my travels.  Olive breaks my thoughts. "Lena! Wanna go for a ride?" a ride? My confusion must be written on my face. "J and Gilroy of course! They won't mind, they might actually enjoy it as we do." Gilroy looks pleading up to me.  "They aren't horses... Will it be oke?" "They aren't made of glass either." Gilroy confirms Olive's suggestion by putting his snout against my arm. Giving me small pushes.  "You want me to ride you?" This would have sounded so much more erotic if he was human. Gilroy jumps up. Standing besides me, lowering himself as if for me to easier get on him.  "Hold on their manes or neck, and put some strength in your thighs. Just not too much, they will let you know or whine when its too much. Most importantly just don't let go." Olivia swiftly jumps on this brown wolf she calls J. Looking back at Gilroy, I am still unsure about this. Putting one of my legs in the air over him, I am still wondering if I should do this or not. Before I can decide he stands up. I quickly grab his fur not to slide down. He bounces once, so I get thrown correctly on to him.  "Don't forget that thigh strength. Or you will be bouncing like that on him." Olivia says in extreme laughter. I must have looked like a total sack of potatoes that was thrown in the air. Olivia hugs J and off they go.  I can feel Gilroy's massive body under me and between my legs. Strengthening my thighs, being afraid to fall off within the first couple of steps. I twist my finger in his fur, not pulling yet but holding on tight around his neck. Almost laying with my whole body on him. "I think I am ready" I whisper. Expecting him to immediately take off. Instead Gilroy takes a couple of steps, making sure I am good to go, increasing his speed it turns into a gallop before he starts to run after Olivia and J.  The wind glides over my cheeks, I can feel his fur moving around me. Caressing my skin. With a big leap he jumps over a creek. Catching up with Olivia and J. Glancing to the right, with my face still partly resting on Gilroy I can see Olivia. She is almost sitting upright, laughing. She looks so in place, enjoying the breeze. I keep seeing fragments of her happiness as trees part us. She leans back down again, and their speed increases. We start racing them, going faster the wind starts to s***h on my skin.  We reach a field, filled with healthy green grass and daisies. With my left cheek pressed on Gilroy I follow how the tree line becomes smaller. The grass spreading up to the horizon. When a white greyish wolf jumps out of the forest line. Running in the same direction with an angle towards us. Getting closer and closer. J blocks my view as he catches up with us on the right. I can't see this greyish wolf anymore.  Gilroy takes a turn to the left, slowly slowing down. While J and Olivia come to a stop behind us on the field. Gilroy keeps going, but his steps lessen till he is walking. I sit up looking back. I can now see the greyish wolf is also galloping towards J. Lessening their speed, but it doesn't look completely playful. But not as aggressive as that one day...  Reaching the tree, Gilroy stops. Not completely sure on whats happening, I glide off Gilroy. Even though I feel safer on top of him. He takes a couple of steps until he is in front of me. Blocking me from seeing anything. Stretching my arm, before I can reach his fur he jumps to the front. Accelerating his speed he races forwards. J runs towards me with Olivia. Gilroy and the grey wolf both accelerated towards each other. Leaping into the air, clashing into each other. It doesn't look like the playful wrestling I have seen before. However my guts are telling me that Gilroy is being cautious. Holding back his strength. "Get on." Olivia bows over J, holding out her hand for me to grab. Grabbing her hand with my left hand I give myself a push from the ground. Jumping on J, behind Olivia, holding onto her waist.  "Hold on tight onto me. Its better if we get out of here." I can see Gilroy wrestling in the grass with the grey wolf. J starts running. Almost throwing me off of him. Holding tight onto Olivia, I bow a bit over her as she hangs over J. Turning my head back I can still see Gilroy. They have stopped jumping on each other and are now walking back and forward on both sides. A rustling sound in front of us makes me turn back to the front. I can now see a hand full of other wolves run towards us. But they run past us. Towards Gilroy.  Looking back I can see some wolves have surrounded both Gilroy as well as the Grey wolf. More wolves must have joined from the other side of the field. As if they are backing up the Grey wolf. I am worried for the well being of Gilroy. J jumps into the woods and soon my view is blocked by the trees. Turning my face back to the front I burry my face into Olivia's back. Hoping we will be back soon again and that Gilroy will return to my side soon.  Olivia squeezes my arm around her a little, as if trying to reassure me. Reaching Conan's house again after running for another 20 minutes I guess, I slide off J.  "They are gonna be fine, probably just some small dispute." Olivia reads me so well.  "If you say so. Lets make some dinner, I am sure J also deserves a luxurious dinner after carrying both of us back." I try to hide my worries for Gilroy. How am I supposed to later on leave him behind and go on with my life? It feels weird that I feel such strong feelings for an animal, as if he is my own kid or something. Wanting him to be besides me, in my view.  "Can we have those steaks we got yesterday?"  "Yeah thats a good idea. Can you start chopping the veggies? Than I will bake the steaks." Should I also prepare one for Gilroy? "Lets prepare some for dad and Gilroy as well. They might be starving when returning home." As if she is reading my mind.
