Dorian's POV
The phone is ringing, and Dorian walks over to his desk and answers it. "Hello?" he says, his voice steady despite the chaos of the day.
"Hey, cousin!" Kelly's cheerful voice breaks through the tension. Dorian smiles slightly, feeling a momentary relief as he leans back in his chair. "How's everything going on your end?" Dorian asks, trying to keep the conversation light. Kelly chuckles, "You know how it is—just the usual craziness!" Dorian nods, even though Kelly can't see him. He takes a deep breath, ready to share some of his challenges.
"Hey, Dorian, can I ask a favor from you?" Kelly's voice remains steady despite the chaos of the day. Dorian raises an eyebrow, intrigued by the request. "Sure, what do you need?" he replies, his eyebrows raised on his end of the phone.
Kelly then says, "Is it okay if my Luna and I come and stay with you for a little while?" He takes a deep breath, ready to share some of his challenges. Dorian's intrigue piqued, he pauses for a moment. "Wait, did you just say Luna?" "That is correct." Kelly's voice is steady, but Dorian can sense the weight behind her words. "When did that happen?" he asks, genuinely curious.
"I met and found her yesterday at her school." Dorian, with a shocked tone, said, "Wait, did you just say you found her at her school?" "Yes," Kelly replied, his eyes widening as he recalled the moment on his side of the phone. Dorian paused for a moment, trying to process the information. "Wait, how old is Luna?" he finally asked, his eyebrows raised on his end of the phone.
"My Luna is fifteen years old," Kelly responded, with a hint of a nervous tone. Dorian, with a shocked expression, said, "Wait, did you just say your luna is fifteen years old?" Kelly could sense the disbelief in Dorian's voice and quickly added, "I know it sounds unbelievable, but it's true." Dorian then said, "Wow."
"That's quite an age for a luna," he continued, trying to wrap his head around the revelation. "I agree. But I have confidence that she'll be a wonderful luna for the Blue Luna Pack and a fantastic mother to our future children."
"Kelly, have you told your parents about her yet?" Kelly shook his head on the other side of the phone, a hint of nervousness creeping in. "Not yet," she admitted, "but I plan to tell them soon.
"Kelly said, his voice tinged with anxiety, 'I'm worried about their reaction to my luna being fifteen.'" He took a deep breath, trying to calm the whirlwind of thoughts in his mind. "I just hope they understand that age doesn't define maturity or capability," he added, his voice softer as he considered the challenges ahead.
"I agree. But I have no doubt once your parents meet her, they'll fall in love with her immediately." He nodded, a flicker of hope igniting in his chest. "You're right; I just need to trust that they'll see her for who she truly is," he replied, a tentative smile breaking through his anxiety on the other side of the phone.
Dorian paused for a moment, then asked, "When will you and your mate arrive here at my packhouse?" "Kelly then says we should be at your pack house early tomorrow morning," he informed.
"Great, that gives us some time to prepare," Dorian said, his tone shifting to one of determination. "I'll make sure everyone is ready to welcome her and ensure that she feels safe and valued from the moment she steps through the door."
"Thank you, Dorian; I sincerely appreciate it." "Of course, it's important to me that she feels at home," Dorian replied, a sense of responsibility settling over him. Dorian hung up the phone, feeling a surge of determination.
Allison entered Dorian's office, her presence instantly brightening the room. "I hope I'm not interrupting," she said with a warm smile. "Not at all," Dorian replied, his determination still evident.
Allison then asks Dorian what’s got him in a positive mood. "You seem particularly upbeat today," she noted, her eyebrows raised. "I just got off the phone with my cousin Kelly, alpha of the Blue Luna pack," Dorian said, a smile spreading across his face.
Curious, Allison inquired, "What did he say that has you so cheerful?" Dorian leaned back, ready to share the good news that lay ahead. "Kelly and his newly discovered mate are coming to stay with us for a little while."
Allison's eyes widened with excitement. "Wait, Kelly found his mate? When did the discovery happen?" "Dorian then says that he met Kelly's mate earlier today in Ohio. "The news made Allison even more eager to meet the new arrival. "They're supposed to arrive tomorrow morning," Dorian added, his smile growing wider. "I can't wait for you to meet her; I have a feeling you two are going to get along famously!"
Allison clapped her hands together, practically bouncing on her toes. "This is going to be amazing! I just know we'll hit it off right away." As the excitement bubbled in the air, Dorian suggested, "Why don't we plan a little welcome party?" Allison's eyes lit up at the idea, and she immediately began brainstorming decorations and snacks, her mind racing with possibilities.
"Let's make it a themed party!" she exclaimed, her enthusiasm contagious. Dorian nodded in agreement, envisioning colorful streamers and a vibrant playlist that would set the perfect atmosphere for their new friendship to blossom.
Dorian then said, "I will leave it to you to make the preparations, my love." Allison beamed at the compliment, feeling inspired to put her creative skills to work. "How about a tropical theme?" she suggested, already picturing bright colors and fruity drinks that would transport everyone to a sunny paradise, if only for a few hours.
Dorian's eyes lit up at the idea, and he nodded enthusiastically. "That sounds amazing! We can even make flower crowns and serve coconut water to really immerse ourselves in the theme."
All of a sudden, Allison feels a strange pain throughout her body. It starts as a dull ache but quickly intensifies, making it challenging for her to concentrate on their conversation. "Dorian, I…" she stammers, trying to shake off the discomfort. "Are you okay?" he asks, concern etching his features as he watches her expression change.
The pain shifts, morphing into something more primal, as she feels an overwhelming urge surging within her. Her senses heighten, and she realizes she’s transforming, her human form giving way to something wild and untamed.
A shiver runs down her spine as the world around her sharpens into vivid detail, sounds amplifying and colors brightening. Panic and exhilaration intertwine within her, and she struggles to maintain her composure despite the chaotic change threatening to overtake her.
With each heartbeat, she can feel the raw power coursing through her veins, igniting a fierce determination to embrace this metamorphosis. For the first time, she senses a connection to the very essence of the wilderness as the shadows of the forest pulse with life, inviting her to surrender to her new identity.
The whispers of the trees seem to call her name, urging her to step deeper into their embrace. As she moves forward, the boundaries of her old self begin to fade, and a profound sense of belonging envelops her, urging her to explore the uncharted territory of her newfound abilities.
Allison's wolf form emerges, embodying the raw power of the wilderness. Her fur, a deep, rich shade of midnight, glimmers under the dappled light of the forest canopy, making her nearly invisible among the shadows. Her eyes, bright and piercing, reflect the essence of the wild, filled with wisdom and instinct.
Muscles ripple beneath her sleek coat, each movement fluid and graceful, as if she were born to run through the forest. The air around her crackles with energy, resonating with the pulse of life that surrounds her. In this form, she feels an unbreakable bond to the earth, a connection that invites her to embrace her true identity.
Dorian feels a shiver down his spine as he hears a voice through the mind link saying, "Hello, Dorian." Dorian's heart races as he responds, "Who are you?" "My name is Uranus. I'm your mate's wolf and the other half of her spirit."
Dorian feels a surge of disbelief at the revelation. "That's not possible; there's never been a female wolf in existence," he mutters through the mind link, trying to process the information. The voice continues, calm and reassuring, "I understand your doubts, but I assure you, I am real, and I am not the only female wolf in existence."
Dorian then says through the mind link, "What do you mean you're not the only female wolf in existence?" "Kelly's mate is a female wolf." The revelation disrupts Dorian's thoughts, igniting a mix of confusion and curiosity. "But how can that be?" he questions, his heart racing as he grapples with the implications of a reality he never imagined possible.
The weight of her words hung in the air, forcing Dorian to reconsider everything he thought he knew about their world. "There are more of us than you realize," she continued, a hint of defiance in her voice, "and we're stronger together than apart."
"How many more female wolves are out there besides you and Kelly's mate?" "Besides me and Kelly's mate, there are five more female wolves out there in existence." Dorian's heart raced at the thought of a hidden sisterhood, each one potentially possessing powers he had yet to comprehend. "We need to find them," he declared, determination igniting within him as he realized the significance of their unity in the face of looming threats.
Uranus then stated that they would reveal themselves when the time was right. With those words, a shimmering light enveloped Uranus, transforming her back into Allison's human form.
"What just happened?" Allison asked, her eyes wide with confusion. Dorian stared in disbelief as he processed the transformation before him. "You just turned into a wolf," he exclaimed, trying to grasp the reality of the moment. Allison shook her head, still dazed. "I-I didn't mean to," she stammered, feeling an unfamiliar energy coursing through her.
Dorian took a cautious step closer, his fascination increasing. "But how did you do that? I've never seen anything like it before," he pressed, his voice filled with both awe and concern.
"I have no idea. One minute I was fine. Then the next minute I felt a strange pain that went through my entire body." As she spoke, her heart raced, and she could feel a lingering warmth at her fingertips. Dorian's expression shifted from curiosity to determination, as if he was ready to help her uncover the mystery behind her sudden transformation.
"Will figure this out, my love. For both you and Kelly's mate." He reached for her hand, intertwining their fingers with a reassuring grip. "Together, we can face whatever challenges lie ahead, and I won't let anything happen to you."
As the intensity of his words sank in, a flicker of hope ignited within her. She took a deep breath, steeling herself for the journey ahead, knowing that with Dorian by her side, they could unravel the truth and confront the unknown together.
"You should go and rest a little bit in our room," Dorian suggested gently. She nodded, feeling a mix of exhaustion and anticipation. As she made her way to their room, the warmth of his promise lingered in her heart, fueling her determination to uncover the secrets that awaited them.
