❝ Biology — the only Science where multiplication and division means the same thing. ❞

"Sanchez! Wait up!" I see Matthia pushing and shoving his way through the pool of students crowding the hallway.
First period is Biology. Great.
I close my locker in annoyance.
"Another day with Mr Tan about phospholipids and carrier proteins. I can't wait for it." I said each word dripping with sarcasm.
"That guy is funny but awkward around students but funny. Him being young also makes him understand us unless you want Mrs Kingsley the wrinkly old hag that teaches the class next door to teach us instead."
"Preach that Mr Tan is a cool dude!" I feel an arm crashing down on my shoulder.
"Don't crush her Jaden."
"She isn't that weak," Jaden ruffled my hair.
Meet my two best friends: Matthia Lee and Jaden Smith. Killer looks, dazzling smiles and charming faces enough to make anyone do anything. People kiss the floor they walk on.
Every guy wants to be them.
Every girl wants to claim them.
Yes, they are the two hotshots of Willow Park High. I was the only girl not falling for those "looks" and "smiles" plus the girls here all care about climbing the social ladder which I didn't give a s**t about and became friends with them.
Now, these two boys are my best friends. They'll be there the moment I call them and the same goes for me. It's an unspoken pact.
Call and we'll be there to back up the other person.
"Avi zoning out there? Let's get to Biology class before we get called to stay behind after the lesson."
The three of us quickly muttered a "good morning" to Mr Tan before silently getting into our seats. Matthia and I were sitting together and Jaden was sitting in front of Matthia.
I heard whispers going around and many students were much more involved in their hushed conversations. "Matt, what's going on?"
"That's the question, I don't have an answer to, ask Smith."
"Jaden."
...
"Jaden," I said a little louder.
...
"Jaden Smith!" I whisper-yell into his ear.
"What?" I hear him whisper back.
"What is everyone talking about?"
"How am I supposed to know?"
"Genius, you know everything so think." Matthia piped into the conversation.
"I thought you were talking about Biology because Mr Tan is just blabbering away and nothing processed in my brain and—"
"Stop rambling Jaden."
"Camp."
"Camp?" I questioned.
"Its the camp of the year Avi, what do you mean you don't know!"
"Oh, the camp is next week right?" Matthia spoke.
"What camp are you all talking about?"
"Avi, it's the camp that all senior high students go to every year. Not only us but other schools too. We will be paired up with another school and split into groups with them. Five days of survival in the wilderness."
"Mr Smith, is there something you'd like to say to the class?" Mr Tan's voice echoed throughout the room.
"No, sir."
"Then, I'd advise you to keep your mouth shut."
Me and Matthia just stared at the whiteboard trying to keep our chuckles in.
"Assholes." Jaden muttered under his breath and shot us a glare.
"Listen to the class Smith." Matthia whispered trying to keep a straight face.
...
"By far the most boring Biology lesson ever. I mean what are nephrons and globulus?"
"Glomerulus Jaden."
"Glomerulus?"
"glomerulus renalis: The main function of the glomerulus is to filter plasma to produce glomerular filtrate, which passes down the length of the nephron tubule to form urine."
"Glomerulus renalis? What does that have to do with urine?"
"They are called glomerulus shithead. Listening in class sometimes might help." Matthia mocked.
"Very funny"
"Quit it, boys, I'm starving." I mean my stomach has been begging for food since Biology although I lost my appetite halfway during class when Mr Tan brought in a sheep's kidney from the Biology laboratory.
Who knew kidneys were like jelly?
They were real squishy you know.
"Finally I found you three."
"What's up Reya?"
Reya is a girl from our homeroom class who is assigned to deliver important information from teachers to students. Basically like our version of Twitter and the little birdie here is Reya.
"There's a briefing about the camp today during homeroom session so report to the auditorium instead of E03-09," Reya said before rushing off to tell other students.
"Thanks, Reya!" I shout at the girl who has already reached the other side of the cafeteria.
"So, you eating your food or can I have it?"
"Shut up Jaden." Matthia and I chorused.
