709 Words
Payton sat on the couch in the living room of her house, she was using her time playing with Isaac. He sat in front of her and held some glow sticks, putting them up to her face, Payton's eyes would turn to the color of the stick and Isaac would laugh with glee. "Blue! Blue!" Isaac pleaded and held up a blue one, Payton smiled and her eyes turned a dark blue, her little brother clapped, "Blue!" "Payton! Your friends are here!" Her mother shouted from outside. "I got to go Isaac," Payton said, she hugged him and walked out the door, "Bye buddy." "Have fun, hun. Don't be home to late." Her mother said, she smiled, "Bye mom, love you." "Bye dear." she replied and went back to weeding her flower bed. "Hey girl!" Lily said. "Hi," Payton said as she neared the car, "Oh my gosh, i'm so over dressed." "No! You look amazing!" Mal said, as she sat in the passenger seat. "Ready?" "I guess." she replied and got in. "OMG James is gonna drool over you!" Lily said and pulled out of the drive way. ~~~~ "Here we are," Lily said and pulled in a parking spot, "Let's show these boys how it's done." "#strutyourstuff," Giggled Mal and got out, "Coming Pay?" "Uh- Yeah, of course," Payton smiled and closed the door behind her. Lily flipped her hair back and lead the way, Mal and Payton followed, making sure to walk slow as they neared the boys. "Hi boys," Mal said and waved. "Going to see the game? So are we." Lily smiled, "Pay, say something," "Uhh....what's up?" Payton said, "That was horrible." she muttered and hurried inside. ~~~~ "Guys, I think I change my mind.." Payton said, looking at the weather app on her phone and seeing it was a full moon tonight. "Aww, why Pay? The games gonna start soon," Lily looked over at her. "And you know you want to see Isaaaac..." Mal said in a sing-song voice and pretended to swoon. She laughed, "Im serious, I don't feel to well." "Can you wait it out? Please?" "Fine, I'll try." She sighed and scrolled more on her phone, and looked up when someone tapped her on the shoulder. "Oh hey, Matt." she said, stuffing her phone in her pocket. "Hey Payton, I was wondering if you could take this to Derek, Coach wants me to go get the other basket balls," "Um, sure," She said and took the blue Gatorade. "Thanks." he smiled and walked down the bleachers. "I'll be right back, Lil, M." she told her friends and made her down to the basketball court. ~~~~ Payton found Derek out in the court shooting baskets for practice; taking a deep breath, she walked over to him. "Derek? Um- Matt wanted me to give this to you.." she handed him the drink and looked down, "I uh- hope you do good.." "Your going to wish me luck after you glared at me in all of gym today?" Derek asked, with that signature smirk of his. Payton grimaced, her eyes slowly turned green, and she looked a little ways a bit. "Look- I'm sorry, okay? I was jealous. Usually, I'm the one who rings the bell in rope climbing. I also have...anger issues..." "You can say that again," he muttered and shot the ball. "What's that supposed to mean?" she jerked her head back to him, her eyes some what still green, but back to they're normal light green/brown. "You have anger issues," he paused, "I thought you were one of those quiet new girls, but, there's something different about you.." She looked up at the window and saw the moon starting to peek through the clouds, "I am? H- how?" He shrugged, "Still haven't found out yet-" "That's great! I have to go now!" she said hurriedly and brushed past him, heading towards the door to outside. "Payton!" Derek said and ran after her. 'Great.' Payton thought and ran out into the night, she winced as a shudder rippled through her body as she looked up at the moon. Gritting her teeth she looked back and saw the doors open and some students walk out, she growled and ran towards the woods.
