The first time I saw Gemini was when she was just five years old.
Nasa America kami noon, kasama ang buong pamilya ko, para dalawin ang Sullivan Family.
I still remember what Daddy told me before we went inside the hospital.
“Tito Zeus has a daughter, Cassian,” sabi niya. “Her name is Gemini. She doesn’t live with them for now… she’s different. She’s special.”
At that time, I didn’t understand what he meant. Ang alam ko lang, si Aries ay tatlong taong gulang pa lang, at si Capri ay sanggol.
Pero ang sinabi ni Daddy tungkol kay Gemini ay tumatak sa isip ko — different. Pagpasok namin sa hospital, nakita ko siya.
She was sitting quietly on a white chair, small and fragile, with several thin wires attached to her head — the doctors were monitoring her brain activity.
