She Rose

The Current Time: The First Sight Trenton Singh’s POV Darkness had been crippling around me, following in the lines of my shadow, waiting for the right time to s***h a severe wound through my soul. It was slowly devouring any second to take the light’s spot and came into its true form, where no one will ever halt it. It was a formidable state where anyone can break the laws of life and take part in it. It was domineering. How long did I trap myself in this kind of matter? It has been an hour, isn’t it? Or was it even longer than how I anticipated it. I was pacing down in this dark alley where I could only hear my heart beating and the shallow steps I made, not knowing what’s the end of it. Or, did it have one to call as the end. Where am I going? Am I dead? I’m not ready to leave the mortal world. Somehow, I still need to build my family that had been shattered and make things right again – it was the deepest wish I have within me. And even the coldness couldn’t stop it in the future. There were soft wails from the distance. Those that came from the souls that were hoping for a miracle. They were eager to get it. Every step of mine, they become louder in my ears. They have been calling and aching for someone. I looked around to every corner, trying to find who they’re searching for, but I was stuck with the certainty that I was alone for this moment. I was traveling in an anonymous place. It was pitched black. The voices were surrounding me, calling out a name that it wasn’t even me. Wake up little one. You need to rise. Please wake up. I heard it several times together with some footsteps in front of me, coming in my direction. I saw a woman in her green dress and red shoal. Her long hair was swaying with the wind. Her eyes were glowing like the phoenix. She was smiling genuinely at me as if she had known me well. She deliberately reached out her hand and said. “Are you scared?” Her eyes were pure and there is no fear that I could sense around her ground. It was full with concern. I gave her a nod and it was then, I watched her floated in the air. I was able to touch her hand, and it was cold but somehow I felt life - the light I needed. Am I? My eyes scanned the place. It was hopeless. I couldn’t see anything except for her. I held tight, simply as a response to her question. “Don’t be weary for I am with you. The light will shine and it will help you seek the truth. May you find the peace within you, Trent Singh. Always remember, trust yourself and don’t waver till death.” A tremendous light suddenly came out from her chest, slowly engulfing the place as she gently vanished in the vastness of the dusk. The light was reaching out to me and it was then, I felt warm in its manner. I heard someone’s weeping beside me, near my ear. Her hand was rough, as she held my arm tight. The sheets were moist with her tears. I slowly opened my eyes and the white ceiling is the first thing to appear. Everything is so bright and white. I unhurriedly turned my head and saw the walls. They were also white but a dandelion painting had made it not dull. The rays are shining radiantly through the windows. The air conditioner is at burst. Am I in Heaven? A woman suddenly sprung from nowhere, her face was preposterous – sagged dark eyes, rancid clothes, and pimples and even so, she hasn’t taken a bath for days. I was sure of it that she made me sneezed. Her face suddenly brightened into a wide smile. She immediately ran towards the door and left me. The hell, is wrong with that woman? I couldn’t still think straight. The white clock was ticking at the top of my head. I swiveled to the other side and saw a tray of uneven food. Those watermelon, potatoes, and fried fish were making my mouth to water. I gradually rubbed my tummy as it called me to lavish every bits of what's been prepared. I was hungry. Suddenly, a man in his lab coat came and rushed inside. His thick-lensed glasses were good in him. He greeted me with his warm smile and a good morning. He grabbed his stethoscope and used it on me, hearing carefully my heart thumped. He requested me to slowly open my mouth and examined it as well as my eyes. He took other examinations and I just followed his instruction. All the time, I was only staring at the man’s face. He patted me slowly on my head and turned to face a young lady wearing her yellow pale dress and slippers. She was clasping her hands together as she took glances over me. Who even is she and why is she giving that worried face? Why am I here in this hospital? Did anyone call Mom and Dad? “It’s a miracle that she had gained her consciousness. The good news is, her condition is getting better.” He said to her. She shed a tear. “T-Thank you, Doctor Steve.” The man looked at me one more time and said. “I guessed prayers really move the mountains.” He left with a smile. I turned to face the woman who was standing in front of me. I blinked twice. She slowly moved beside me without taking her smile, and wrapped her arms around me. She cried out. I sat there and let her do her thing but the 'she' word really did ring a bell. “It’s nice to see you back again.” She whispered in my ear. I silently scoffed. What's happening right now is really bizarre? I should call them and let them know my current state. And one thing that's roaming in the back of mind is that...who even is she that they are talking about and who am I?
