The Time When Their Worlds Collided The first thing that I saw about her is her sense of fashion. Her hair was in deep curls and her high sky blue dress with dandelions and white rose prints touched the ground. She was also wearing a large circle of dangling earrings and every time she moved to any side, they were swaying. Her luscious lips were tainted in deep red lipstick as her cheeks blushed and her false eyelashes were flapping like they could fly any time in front of me. She’s obviously an optimistic, playful and gracious woman. But one thing for sure is, I really don’t know her and her presence right now is giving me such the creep. She freed her throat, but she was not pulling her attention from me, flashing me like I am something like her target for this day. So, I decided to confront the lady, but I made sure that I’m not going to sound rude in front of her. “Hello, Ma’am. May I know who you are since you just popped beside me and offered a grin as you know me. Maybe, I know you but I just forget? So…I was hoping that you could give me your name.” I smiled at her, but somehow it was getting fake as the time I wait for her to give a response is taking much longer more than what I expected. I took a sigh and was about to go home instead and just do nothing for the whole day, not until she stopped me when she gave me her answer. “Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t snap. It’s Everly. Just call me like that.” She smilingly told. I tried to recall in my memory if I have met someone who has the same name like hers, but I don’t know anyone. Instead, I gave her a faint smile one more time and told her, “It’s nice to meet you, Ma’am Everly. But, it seemed that I don’t remember anyone with the same name like yours.” “Oh, I’m sorry for that. I think this is our first meeting. Maybe I was mistaken to see you as the boy that I was searching for.” She giggled, arching her eyes into a smile, but something is strange about her, but I don’t know what it is exactly. “So, where are you going now?” She intently asked me. We’re not that closed really. Are we? I took a deep breath and decided to give her a brief response and after this, I’m really going back home instead. I need to be around my room before Mom will call me again as to ask my errands for this day. “I’m just wandering around…and I’m planning to go home now.” Her eyes sagged and her smile fell off from her lips. “Oh, I see. I’m sorry for the inconvenience too. Well, you should take care then. There are a lot of things that are happening around us and we don’t know when will be our end or will be taken in another purpose in life.” She said. Yet, I wasn't sure if I saw a wink from her but I shrugged the doubt. “I got to go now too. See you.” She didn’t wait for me to answer back and took her leave instead. She slowly disappeared with the crowd and I was left there dumbfounded and didn’t completely understand what really had just happened. I shook my head and thought it was just my imagination that is playing with me this current and I just need to take this to a good sleep. Everything is going to be at ease, I reminded myself all over again. I didn’t buy anything and went outside the building. It is just another day to make myself survive for twenty-four hours. I took a yawn and was about to cross the main road when a young lady snatched my attention; almost in the same age as mine taking herself to cross using the pedestrian lane over the distance. But things escalated so fast that a car vehicle, wailing its wheels and in a flash, it is taking off in her direction even if the lights were still on red and few seconds more to go. I thought that it would halt there, but it went on with its speed and in a flicker, it crashed the lady that was passing by. Her goods that she bought was thrown and scattered on the main road and she fumbled a few times away. "Oh, God! Help her!" A woman from the corner shouted, pointing her on the ground. Everyone wheezed in an alarm and started to pace in her way. She was grunting in heavy pain; covered in red as we hoped that the driver would stop and helpe her, but the car didn’t stop and accelerated instead, leaving us in shock. The old man yelled at him, wishing that he would come back out of guilt. But, seconds turned into minutes and he hasn’t come back. Someone just called for help and contacted the emergency services. I moved near to her in order for me to see her closely but in a strike, I felt something different from my body and I couldn’t breathe properly. My head is getting pumped as if a hammer was hit deeply; making it hard for me to bare, so I lost my balance and lied on the ground with her. She was spitting blood already and I was catching my own puff. But one thing I was caught up is the appearance of the same lady over the distance, looking straight in our path. Her face was a bit stern and her shoulders were stiff. I couldn't picture how her eyes reacted as the vision of us laid in front of her scene. I gaped above and see the clear ocean sky. Am I going to perish here now?” I asked myself with the same question, hoping that I won’t. Somehow, I feared death. I heard those panic mumbles of those who were huddled around and their faces were very apprehensive. I was slowly missing my consciousness and was about to pass when I moved my hand; landing it on hers and in a weird turn of events, I felt a strong, heat trotting through my veins like a gleam and I looked gradually to where she is and only to see an immense blazing shaft of light and something was etched on our wrists. So, this is destiny, I presumed. As my beats faded away, I slowly rest my eyes, accepting reality and I was able to sleep at peace... And the day I saw to be fine just tilted everything that I thought about and turned into a misery.
