CHAPTER SIX

As I pondered the mysterious note, Tweeny's revelation sent a chill down my spine. Kidnap and kill me? The stakes were higher than ever. I looked at Merian, her expression grim, and nodded in agreement with Tweeny. "Let's do it. We'll go to the meeting, but we'll be prepared. Merian, can you arrange for some discreet backup?" Merian nodded and quickly left the room, her phone already in hand. I turned to Tweeny. "Who do you think sent this message?" Tweeny hesitated before answering, "I think it's someone from the police department, maybe Officer NoNo's partner. They might be trying to take down Pope from the inside." I nodded thoughtfully. "That's a good point. But we still need to be cautious. Let's get to the warehouse early and scope out the area." As we arrived at the old warehouse, the darkness seemed to swallow us whole. I could feel eyes watching us, and my heart raced with anticipation. We moved stealthily, trying to blend into the shadows. Suddenly, a figure emerged from the darkness. "Sir Kelvin, I see you're brave enough to come alone." The voice was familiar, but I couldn't quite place it. "Who are you?" I demanded, trying to keep my voice steady. The figure stepped forward, revealing a surprising identity. "I'm Officer Rachel, NoNo's partner. I've been working undercover to take down Pope, but I need your help." My mind reeled as I tried to process this new information. Could I trust her? And what did she want from me? The night was full of secrets, and I was about to uncover them.
