The first morning of the High Council’s audit arrived. By eight o'clock, Delegate Vane had already commandeered the main administrative boardroom, turning the alpha’s primary workspace into an interrogation center.
Ace walked into the room with his posture commanding and unyielding, his alpha aura firmly in place. Rose stayed slightly behind him, keeping her breathing perfectly even.
Vane sat at the head of the long mahogany table, reviewing a stack of pack documents. His two heavily armed enforcers stood like statues against the wall.
