Chapter Twelve: I groaned. "Is there anyone else who isn't wanting to get in your pants?" He chuckled softly and kissed me on the cheek. "There are a few more and let's hope that they'll be good enough for you." "This is the tenth time you've said that," I grumbled. It's true, around ten people skanks had their interview and afterwards, he'd say that. He shrugged. "I just know it." I sighed and slightly slouched on the leather chair. Brendan picked up the phone and told his assistant for the day to bring the next one in. A very fine looking man came in. He had a dishevelled blond hair style. His grey suit is neatly ironed. His fair tan skin makes his blue eyes pop out. However, Brendan is still better looking than him. I can feel Brendan staring at me as I'm gawking at the guy. I must say, he's one fine piece of meat. I looked at Brendan who was indeed looking at me and then glared at the poor guy. The guy was just awkwardly standing there holding his pieces of papers. I cleared my throat and stood up. I held out my hand for a hand shake which he gladly took. "I am Kristine Roberts and this is Mr. Brendan Johnson. Please, do take a seat," I said, pointing at the chair opposite us. "Logan Walker. It's a pleasure to meet you." He sat down on the chair and handed me his résumé. "The pleasure is ours." I looked at it his résumé and examined it. "So, Logan?" I looked up at him and he nodded. "You're from Atlanta. You've had a year experience and is looking for more?" He nodded once more. I looked at his résumé once more. Logan Walker. Plays football and graduated from Yale, 25 years of age, etcetera. I looked up at Brendan who was looking emotionless. I gave him a tiny smile and pouted a bit. His stare turned hard now. This guy Logan is perfect for the job. A year's experience and also not a distraction whatsoever. He raised his eyebrow and I looked back at Logan who looks really worried. "Why do you want to work here at Johnson's Marketing Industry?" I asked him. "Be - because," He cleared his throat. "I know that this Marketing Industry will help me excel more into what I love doing. This company is known worldwide and I would want to be a part of it," He said. I nodded. Very good answer. Very good indeed. "And you think that this industry will help you excel?" I internally snorted and I know Brendan did too. Of course this company will help him excel! It's the most biggest country in the world! He nodded. "Yes." It was Brendan's turn to speak, which surprised both Logan and I. He leaned on the table. "And why do you think that?" "Because this company, as I said before, is internationally known. It can help me excel with my marketing knowledge and will also be able to help me understand it more in depth." Poor guy. I really felt sorry for him. I wouldn't know what to do if I were in his shoes right now. Brendan was interrogating the poor fella. I looked at Brendan. He seems content with his answer. Thank God! And now I looked at Logan. His facial expressions seems like he's about to s**t his pants. Poor guy indeed. He did a good job though. Brendan put a hand on my shoulder and I hastily looked at him. He raised his eyebrow. I nodded and pleaded with my eyes. Brendan sighed. "You may start working tomorrow. Be here at 9 am sharp. You finish work at 5. Sometimes it may be earlier or later, depending on how busy it is." Brendan stood up and so did Logan. Brendan extended his arm out and shook his hand. "Welcome to the team," Brendan announced. Logan was dumbfounded and so was I. He grinned like the Cheshire Cat. "Thank you so much! I promise, I will not let you down!" Brendan smiled a bit. "Keep your promises." "I promise sir, I will! Thank you!" He nod. I stood up and shook Logan's hand. "Welcome aboard." "Thank you, Ma'am." Then Logan left the room with a huge grin on his face. I looked at Brendan with an emotionless expression. He just stared back. I didn't know what I should do so instead hugged him. He chuckled. "What's this for?" "It's my 'I'm glad that's over' hug. And a thank you hug," I announced. His arms rolled down to my waist and my hands are on his chest. "'Glad that's over'?" He questioned. I nodded. "That was terrible! Those girls have no shame at all!" He chuckled and kissed my nose and lips. "You're the only girl for me." I blushed and looked away but he didn't let me. "You're beautiful," He confessed. My face must be the color of beetroot right now. "No, stop it." He smirked. "Stop what?" "Stop complimenting me," I said. He raised his eyebrow. "And why should I?" "Because it's embarrassing and you should just stop wasting your breath on me?" It was more of a question than a statement. However, I love it when he compliments me. The way when he tells me in beautiful give me butterflies in my stomach. He's so adorable. "But you're to die for." I blushed once more and he kissed me straight on the lips. My stomach was going crazy with the sensation. I was feeling quite lightheaded. And my heart is racing from this kiss. It felt amazing. "Have dinner with me on Friday," He announced. I smiled and kissed him once more, sparks flying. "Of course." ~ I got out of Brendan's room after a half hour make-out session. I can still feel his lips on mine and I swear my lips are swollen. I couldn't help but smile though. He gave me a hickey on my neck. Thank God it wasn't visible unless I move my collar. Outside the room, I saw Logan sitting down on the chair, sipping a cup of coffee. I went up to him. "Hey," I greeted him. He looked up at me and nearly dropped his coffee cup. "I'm sorry I scared you," I said sincerely. He shook his head. "Oh hello, ma'am. Don't worry, it's okay." "Please, call me Kristine," I smiled at him. He nodded. "Okay, Kristine." "So, are you excited about you working here?" "I'm gay," He blurted out. I gasped a bit and gave him a confused look. "Excuse me?" "Inside, I saw the thick tension between you and Mr. Johnson. I'm just here to clarify to you that I'm gay and I'm very much attracted to men." I looked at him and sent out a soft chuckled. "Don't worry! Brendan was only being protective of me." "But why would he do that?" I leaned in his ear. "Do you wanna know a little secret?" He nodded eagerly. "I'm Brendan's girlfriend." He gasped. "So that's why! I knew something was going on in there. God, even blind people would be able to see!" I saw Josh around the corner and I seriously didn't feel like communicating with him. I sighed. "Sorry, I have to go. I'll tell you more details next time whenever we're free," I winked at him. He chuckled. "I can't wait to hear more!" "Bye!"
