Chapter Thirteen
Will sat with Nate, Alex, Officer Daniels, and, surprisingly, his father, as they went over things for tomorrow. When everyone had shown up, his father had gently requested to join in and had been quietly listening as the other men talked.
“We haven’t made it a secret where everyone is,” Nate started. “We know that if something is going to happen to any of you, it will happen here.”
“We have people watching the house too. If a message is sent, we want to intercept it.” Officer Daniels was looking at notes on his phone. “We also have bumped up patrols around here and that should work as some deterrence.”
“We still don’t know what the ‘or else’ is, and that’s the most frustrating part for now. We need to talk to Jennifer and see what else she may know.”
