Chapter Fourteen
Exhausted was an understatement. The last 24 hours had been an emotional rollercoaster for everyone, and it wasn’t even her family.
George had tried to leave on several occasions, feeling the shame of his wife and daughter. He’d apologized, profusely, once everyone was gone, despite both she and Will trying to calm him down. At last, he’d agreed to stay but only until this mess was over. Will looked determined to manage otherwise, but they’d see.
Alex and Nate returned alone, ate a healthy serving of dessert. She and Will got the kids ready for bed. They moved the TV from her room to the spare room so she would still have her bed tonight. George was in the new room, and Will had said he was staying with her.
