Kael’s POV
Something was wrong,Kael noticed it the moment the candles exploded.
The storm outside still raged violently against the pack house windows while darkness swallowed the room completely.
Elira's breathing had changed after the candles died.
Mira looked terrified. Lucien entered the room seconds later with warriors behind him.
“What happened?” Kael didn’t answer,his eyes stayed on Elira sitting frozen on the bed while Mira stood too close beside her.
Kael was beginning to hate that look.
“Leave us,” he ordered the warriors coldly.
Lucien remained near the doorway silently watching everything and smart enough not to interrupt yet.
Kael stepped toward the destroyed candles slowly,every flame extinguished at once.
His gaze shifted toward Elira again.
