Kael's POV
He started with the guards but not because they were the most important link in the chain. They weren't. They were the bottom of it, the easily replaceable outer layer of a network that had been operating inside his pack house for significantly longer than one night.
But breaking the bottom of something was how you understood its structure.
And Kael needed to understand the structure.
The three guards who were assigned to the east wing during the rogue attack were brought to the interrogation room before dawn.
Stone walls,single lamp. A drain in the floor that the pack had learned not to ask questions about.
