That night after dinner James and Morgan retired to their room earlier than usual. They had been evasive when Miriam and Robert asked how the meeting with Great Eagle had gone. James had asked Morgan not to say anything about his being the one Great Eagle had chosen to teach Morgan the Way. He was afraid Robert would be skeptical, and worried Miriam would laugh. They only told Robert and Miriam that Morgan had a few things to do to prepare for making the quest. Robert accepted this. Miriam, however, wanted to know what it was that Morgan had to do.
