They drove for the next hour or so in silence, Morgan blessing Nate for the man’s sensitivity to his need for space in which to think.
It was late afternoon when they pulled into the parking lot at the U near Megan’s dorm. Morgan called Megan to let her know they had arrived and where they were parked. Fifteen minutes later Morgan saw his sister making her way to Nate’s car.
The two men got out and greeted her with hugs.
“I’m sorry I had to interfere with your plans,” Megan said to Nate.
“No problem. I’ll just go have a cup of coffee while you guys talk.”
“I’ll call you when we’re done,” Morgan said, giving Nate a peck on the cheek.
