I smiled placing the card next to the roses. I opened the door to see dad about to knock.
“Hey, did you do all your errands?” I asked.
“I did” he says handing me a small velvet box.
“Happy birthday” he smiles. I return the smile and open the box. I gasped when I saw the beautiful diamond halo drop earrings.
“Dad… they are beautiful. Thank you” I said and gave him a hug.
“I’m glad you like it my beautiful princess” dad said returning the hug. I walked back inside the room and placed my present on the dresser.
“Are you ready to party?” I asked dad making him laugh.
“Of course. I have to go get change first” dad said, and I nod.
“Hey dad, how did you sleep?” I asked him.
“I slept good honey. You don’t have to worry about me” he said. I can’t help but worry.
