“You can do this, Elena. I know you can” Maddie encouraged me. I was exhausted.
“You can do it, Elena” Maria said.
“Push with everything you got” Katia said.
“I’m exhausted” I admitted.
“I know honey, but you need to push. You need to bring your son into this world. Your son is waiting to meet you” Maddie said. As soon as the next contraction hit me, I pushed with everything I had left, letting out a loud growl. I felt like something pushed through.
“Good job Elena. The head is out. One more big push”, Doctor Jackson said, and I did just that. I pushed one last time, letting out another growl. The room filled with the wailing of a baby as I slumped back.
“You have a beautiful, healthy baby boy” Doctor Jackson announced.
