"how are you, it had been so long and i missed you so much habeebty" muhammad stood before her. She had never been so speechless as she is today. He smiled broadly at her as she permit him to sit at the cushion. She stood up and brought some refreshments to him since it was after iftaar. After he drank, he left for masjid. All these while she had not say a single word. Her mother had been watching her moves. "jiddah be kind to your guest" she told her. She only nodded thinking of the way to deal with him to make him regret. Its ramadan after all, so forgive him. A voice in her head echoed. " assalamu alaykum" he entered. That smile never leaving his face. He looks so fresh today and beautiful ,if that is even a word that can be used to describe a man's beauty. she couldn't help but admire. "jiddah i'm really sorry.... " "Wake up jiddah its past noon, you are supposed to be awake by now." she heard a voice as if its in her dream. She shifted her body and hugged her pillow. "wake up this instant or i will deal with you " she quickly jumped out of the bed. This sentence is no one's but her mum's. It had been used on her ever since. "mummy I'm awake" she rubbed her eye. She remembered her dream and wished it had finished before her mum interrupted her. Its sad that even if you go back to sleep the dream will not come back. (i don't like the fact. Lol). Bringing her phone out of the pillow case, she saw a missed call and a message from a strange number. She shrugged it off without opening the message assuming that it was from one of those people disturbing her. *** "how do you think i can get her number" Muhammad asked ikram. "go to her friends house preferably hafsa" "thank you " he grabbed his keys. "hey, bro wait do you even know the house" she laughed. "oops i didn't, that was silly of me" "as you are always," he heard a familiar feminine voice. He knows this voice somewhere. He turned his back and met his gaze with the stranger's dark brown eyes. Looking at the lady, he tried to remember where he knows her. She's grinning at him revealing her set of front teeth. She had tied a veil around her waist. He didn't even find it funny. Of all people, this is who hajia chose for him. No wonder the girl had been staring at him when he went to took his dad to the village some weeks ago. He didn't even remember her name. Ikram stood looking at the lady from head to toe. Is this village girl her brother is marrying? Of all the better girls in their family. "i know you don't know me, i love you so much and my name is safiya" she twirled feeling happy. "and very soon, I'm going to win your heart and you will be all mine" she added and head for hajias apartment. Safia is a lady of twenty years»Jiddah's agemate. She's not Muhammad's family. She's hajia's friends' daughter. An old family friend to be precise. Their family with Muhammad's, share a strong bond since. Now that the girl pick interest in Muhammad, she told hajia and that's how it started. "when did this thing came"? Muhammad asked ikram. "yesterday, she came along with hajia" . He nodded. Its a month of meeting new people. He thought as he just hissed and entered his room. *** "mummy i have not been feeling too well since morning " jiddah whined. "yes i noticed it but just try and cut these chickens people are waiting " her mother handed her the knife. She collected it reluctantly and started cutting the chickens sluggishly. She had not been her self since morning. The dream kept on replaying in her head. She thought she had moved on but who is she kidding? She still loves him. Why did he have such a great effect on her? She asked herself. Sighing, she went over to the tap and washed her hand. Since she is done already, she sprayed a mat and laid on it thinking. So is this how it feel to promise someone that you couldn't live in peace so far as you didn't fulfill the promise. She was happy when she took the promise that's why we were advised not to make promise when we are too happy and not to talk when we are in anger. Does he even think the same way she does? Did he even missed her? She asked her self for the umpteenth time. They say love is life but if that's the case, her life is not a happy one. "jiddah you are thinking too much and its not good for your health" her mother warned. "mum" she smiled preferring not to talk because she knows it will take time to convince her mother. *** KANO. "maami i will be going, i found out she's in adamawa" muhammad squatted before his mum. "where in adamawa my son" she asked worriedly. "maami i don't know yet, but am sure i will get it once i went there. Just pray for me." "alright, may God protect you son" she prayed and blessed him. He rose to his feet and left for abee's apartment. He bade him him and abee prayed for his safety. He blessed him too. He remembered that maami told him not to be forgetting his grandma when he's doing things. He head to her apartment door and stood there contemplating whether to enter or not. He wants to enter but he don't want to set his eye on 'that thing'. Knocking slightly at hajia's door hoping that the knock won't be heard he heaved a deep longing sigh. "who is at the door" he heard her. "its Muhammad hajia" he spoke politely. She opened the door and ushered him in. He told her about his travel and she didn't show any sort of dislike of the trip. She only wished him good. "you didn't even greet him" hajia elbowed safia who eas sitting beside her. "Now go and escort him" hajia whispered to safiya. Safia stood up and followed him. "safe trip brother" she spoke behind him playing with her fingers. He only nodded and left and that made safia smiled to herself. He's becoming her's alone, gradually.
