"Mom, dad," Samuel spoke over his parent's chatter. "Did you know that Loa's mom was murdered?"
I watched Victoria first as she squirmed in her seat, and raised her eyes to guilty look into mine.
"Yes." Shane admits, gripping his wife's hand on the table.
"Why didn't you tell her anything?"
"Loa . . . We . . . Well I didn't know how you would've taken the news. You aren't very expressive but I knew that things were the going the best for you and I guess I was trying to protect you from it."
"I understand." I mutter and she looks at me sadly.
"You had an alibi so I didn't allow the cops to question you or anything . . . I didn't want you to go through all of that."
