The lost Pup

Chapter two - The Bodmin Pack

As they pulled into the yard of Bodmin Pack James rushed to be first of the bus, his wolf desperate to be the one to help Helen on the bus, any excuse to be closer to her. Helen took his hand as she walked down the steps of the bus carrying the young Pup. She felt a tingle as she took James hand, nothing compared to the sparks James felt each time they touched, but she had started to question if there was something in it, but for now she needed to get the Alfa and Luna's permission to take the Pup to the Doctors.

Luna Jenna greeted the bus outside the pack house Helen walked up bowing her head in respect before explaining what had happened. Luna Jenna listened and gentle took the Pup for Helen and motioned for her to follow her to the Hospital. "we will look after him, he looks like has not had any milk in at least a few days" Jenna reassured Helen as they walked along the path to the Hospital. "I wonder what has happened to him, where are his parents" Helen wondered aloud. wisely Jenna who could give no answers smiled at Helen in her calm manor and approached the door of the modern Hospital building.

"Doctor Chapman" Luna Jenna greeted the doctor who rushed to meet them hearing footsteps "the Pups found him washed up on the beach, he looks very small can you take care of him" Jenna explained still cradling the Pup, Doctor Chapman looked at the Pup and called to Caroline his trusted Omega " Caroline please take this Pup to the nursery and give him some warm milk, I will be along shortly to give him a once over" Caroline nodded, bowing her head to the Luna and taking the pup in her sturdy arms and walking swiftly down the corridor. Helen smiled at Dr Champan "Thank you, can I come and check in on him later?" "off course you can Helen" he replied turning the Luna Jenna he bowed his head " I really must go and check on him, please excuse me Luna, I hope to see you later Helen but please do not wake him if he is sleeping when you return" he said with a smile Helen just nodded. Jenna could see that Helen cared for the Pup and was pleased to see the wolf she suspected to be the destined mate for her some and the next Luna had a good heart.

Together the pair turned and headed back towards the group who had waited in the yard outside the pack house to hear if all was ok with the infant. "the Pup is with Dr Chapman and Caroline, rest assured he will get the best care" she began "now everyone inside your dinner will be ready soon" The youngest members rushed towards the front door remembering how hungry they had all been before they left the beech. James moved closer to Helen "would you like to come with me to see the pup later?" he whispered to her. "I have duty to look after him as he was found on my watch" James continued - this warmed Helens heart and she blushed slightly and nodded. Brad ran round in excited circles in James mind howling at the prospect of getting to spend some more time with Helen.

The Pack house was built of gray slate and was an imposing building which housed a large amount of the pack organized over four floors. The Alfa, his Luna and their children occupied the top floor, then the Beta's and Gama's on the 2nd floor and the Omega's on the first floor. The ground floor held a large common room, dining rooms and a cinema room. They walked through the large wooden door and towards the dining room to join the queue for the buffet, which was the usual dinner lay out for regular meals within the Pack. James motioned for Helen to go before him,, Helen smiled oblivious to his plan, but Brad whispered to James that doing this would mean he was able to seat himself next to her once she chose where to sit. Smiling to himself that his, well Brads, plan had worked he piled his plate high and followed Helen to a table by one of the large windows. They were joined by Gemma and Aaron the beta's daughter and son who had been at the beach with them. They excitedly shared theories of what had lead to the Pup being on the beach in between mouthfuls of food.
