The lost Pup

Chapter 3

"James, can you come to your Dad's office please" Luna Jenna linked her son as he finished his meal. He sighed and got up "coming" he replied. He left his friends at the table and James walked up the large central staircase to the top floor where his Dad, the Alfa's office was.

"Come in" Lucas called as he heard his son's tell tale foot steps approaching along the long corridor. Alfa Lucas sat behind a large mahogany desk with Jenna his fated mate by his side resting a hand on his shoulder whilst they talked and waited for their oldest son. Jennas long flowing long blond hair which sits just below her waist, she dressed in jeans and a vest top showing of her shapely body, Lucas wore his Alfa standard clothing of a tight teashirt showing of his muscular torso and jeans.

Lucas wanted to hear what had happened at the beach from his son and to see if he had a plan, this would be a test to see if he is ready to take over as Alfa once he has mated with Helen.

Luna Jenna smiled at her son as he walked in and sat on the chair opposite them. "can you tell us what happened at the beach?" she asked already knowing most of the story from Helen. James explained that Helen had found the Pup, the pack had searched for any parents but none were found and James said he thought that the baby had washed up as the basket was wet and had seaweed on it. He had not pointed this out to Helen as he did not want to upset her. James looked at his parents "I think she was abandoned or maybe she was taken from her parents" he shook his head "I can't believe anyone could just leave her there!"

Alfa Lucas gave James a minute to think before prompting him "what do we do?" "I think we need to contact some of the local packs and see if they have anyone missing?" James said confidently. Luna and Alfa shared a secret smile. This was a good starting point. "Dad would you call the Alfa's of our neighboring packs?" Lucas nodded "I want you to stay with me while I call them. You may be able to provide additional information and it will be good experience for you" Brad began to grow restless wanting to get back to Helen, he started to pace in James mind "get back to mate" he repeated over and over again "it won't take long Brad, you have to be patient, I want to get back to her too!" James tried to plicate his possessive and inpatient wolf.

Luna Jenna bent to kiss Lucas on the forehead and left them to make their calls. "he has started to build a good plan Lucas" she linked as she left "can't wait to see you later my Alfa" she wiggled as she walked glancing at her mates face to check the smile at her secret message.

James listened to the one sided conversations one after another

"Alfa Stone" Lucas greeted yet another Alfa over the phone, "Our younger pack members where at the beach today" Alfa Lucas began to regale the same story for the fourth and final time explaining what had happened to the Alfa who's pack bordered them on the east side. "they found a Pup on the beach which appeared to be washed up in a basket, are you aware of anyone within your pack missing a Pup or perhaps a family going missing?" Lucas shook his head as the voice at the end of the line was given time to speak. "I understand, please let us know if you hear anything, See you at our meet up for full moon" Lucas put the phone down and shook his head again at his son, none of the packs which adjoined them seemed to have anyone missing a Pup. "It could be a rogues Pup I guess" shrugged James "but she didn't smell like a rogue. Can I go and check on her?" James asked getting up and moving towards the door. Lucas nodded "let me know if you hear anything" James walked out the door towards his room, to change quickly before seeing Helen and the Pup.
