Chapter 5: Bound to Him

649 Words
The moment the pen left the paper… I knew everything had changed. There was no going back. No escape. The contract lay on the table between us, silent… but powerful enough to decide my entire future. I slowly lifted my gaze. He was already watching me. Not surprised. Not pleased. Just… calm. Like he had known all along what my choice would be. “Good,” he said quietly. That one word sent a strange feeling through me. It wasn’t approval. It felt more like… ownership. He picked up the contract and glanced at my signature before placing it aside. “From today on, you will follow my rules,” he continued. I swallowed hard. “And if I don’t?” His eyes darkened slightly. “You will.” No hesitation. No doubt. Just certainty. My fingers curled into fists under the table. I hated how easily he controlled everything… including me. “What exactly do you want from me?” I asked, forcing my voice to stay steady. He stood up slowly. Walked around the table. Stopped right beside me. Too close. My breath hitched. “For now?” he said quietly. “You stay.” His voice dropped lower. “And you learn.” “Learn what?” He leaned slightly closer. Close enough for me to feel his presence… his warmth… his control. “How to belong in my world.” My heart skipped. I quickly stood up, putting distance between us. “I don’t belong here,” I said. He watched me silently for a moment. Then— “You will.” Silence fell again. Heavy. Suffocating. “You’re insane,” I muttered under my breath. A faint smirk appeared on his lips. “Maybe.” He turned away as if the conversation was already over. “Follow me.” I hesitated for a second… Then followed. What choice did I have? We walked through long corridors, each step echoing against the marble floors. The mansion felt even bigger during the day… And even more isolating. “This house has rules,” he said without looking back. “You don’t go into my private areas.” “You don’t talk to my business associates.” “And you don’t leave without permission.” “So I’m a prisoner,” I said bitterly. He stopped walking. Slowly turned. His eyes locked onto mine again. “No,” he said. “You’re protected.” I let out a dry laugh. “That’s not protection. That’s control.” He stepped closer. Once again… too close. “In my world,” he said quietly, “they are the same thing.” My breath caught. There was something in his tone… something real. Something dangerous. Before I could respond, a man approached us quickly. “Boss,” he said, slightly out of breath. “We have a situation.” The atmosphere changed instantly. His expression turned cold again. Distant. Untouchable. “What is it?” he asked. The man glanced at me briefly… then leaned closer to whisper something in his ear. I couldn’t hear the words. But I saw the reaction. His jaw tightened slightly. His eyes darkened. Something was wrong. “Handle it,” he said coldly. “No mistakes.” The man nodded and quickly left. Silence returned. But it felt different now. Heavier. Darker. I looked at him carefully. “What was that about?” He didn’t answer. Instead, he looked at me with that same unreadable expression. “You don’t need to know.” My chest tightened. Of course. I wasn’t part of his world. Just trapped in it. “Go back to your room,” he said. “And stay there.” Without another word… He walked away. Leaving me standing there… Alone. Confused. And slowly realizing— This wasn’t just about a contract. This world… Was far more dangerous than I ever imagined.
