The world has turned into chaos, allies are rallying together, enemies springing up. The death of the most powerful man in Greece has shook the earth. There are more eyes on me, watching if I am worthy of the legacy my Grandfather created. I am standing in front of my Grandfather’s grave dressed in a black gown while Alfred stands beside me in a black suit, with an umbrella over my head. I could hardly see with the flashing lights over my face each time I lifted my head. This was supposed to be a peaceful burial but there was trouble all around. Speaking of trouble, A car drives recklessly into the scene bursting a water pipe. The water splashes on the guest as they move for safety. Wyatt steps out of the car in a black suit, a bottle of wine in his hand, Emily steps out in a red dress, an odd contrast to what was the occasion’s outfit. All to provoke me. Wyatt walks toward the grave, unscrews the cap of the wine and pours it on the coffin. “Rest in pieces old man” he muttered and smirked then turned to me. Hoping to get a reaction from me but I stood still, if I wanted to act then I would have made sure he had no access to the burial. But it was Grandfather’s wish that the whole family was present. Marcel arrived just in time, he seems to be the only sensible person in the family who didn’t bother to make a scene. He stood by the grave and let out a sigh. Then he picked a rose and threw it into the grave just like the rest. The burial came to an end just as quickly as it began, I watched the men cover his grave then I dropped the last rose. A white rose. “I wish we had more time together” I whispered. I still can’t believe he was gone. I suddenly began to get the feeling that anyone I love will face the cruel fate of death. Alfred led the way as I followed back to the parking lot when a car pulled up in front of us. The glass window slid down and a man wearing a black mask pulled out a gun. A gunshot was fired but before it could hit me, Alfred was already in front of me. The bullet goes straight into his chest, causing him to fall slowly to the ground. I could hear screams all around me, people scattering like thieves. Alfred laid in front of me, blood staining his white shirt, I crouched down to him, “No, no” I pleaded. “Please not you too” I cried out. “Stay with my Alfred” I begged as I held him up, please stay with me” His eyes were slowly closing and I could do nothing to stop the bleeding. “Somebody help me, his is dying” I screamed, who would help me when everyone was scouring for their lives. There were barely people around. “Alfred please, stay with me” I pleaded. Beck rushed to me in an instant, he stared at Alfred laying on the floor bleeding then he shook his head. “Help him” “There is nothing we can do” he rather answered. “What do you mean by that, I can’t let him die like Grandfather did, help him goddamnnit, I command you to help him” But he didn’t bother, Alfred was barely moving at this point, his eyes had shut against the world. “Please” “We have to go” he said instead. I reached for Alfred’s head and rested it on my thighs, “I’m not leaving him.” “We have to go now” Beck grabbed me by the arm and pulled me away from him as we raced for the car. I turned to see him one more time, the man who had willingly taken a bullet to save me, but he was no longer there. How was that possible? Where did he go to? “We need to leave now” Beck yelled pushing me into the back of the car, I could hear gunshots behind me. Two men who had stepped out of the car were left dead on the floor in a pool of their blood. There was still no sign of Alfred, Beck ran towards the driver’s seat when he got shot in the leg, just before he could open the door. I reacted quickly and rushed to the driver’s seat, then I grabbed the keys from Beck and turned it on, hoping to take off. The black Camry from earlier blocked my path, with little or no space to drive by, I watched the driver pull out his gun again. This time it was aimed at my head. I stared in horror at what could be my last chance in earth. Could this really be it. Was I really going to die here?
