VENUS?” She jerked and turned around, she gave a light smile and ruffled her dark orange hair. “Yea?”she answered “Come on, let’s go home” Orpheus smiled as he took her luggage from her. “We’ll miss you so much Venus”Mrs gray said with a smile. Venus smiled and gave her a tight but brief hug as they headed out of the building. They got into the car and zoomed off. Slowly, Venus fell asleep while staring outside the window basing her home goodbye in thoughts. She would miss the fun time she had with her parents and school mates, it was so bad none of her relatives wanted her around or for the adoption, she would have really loved to still live in California, good thing her spirit accepted her new family. “Is she asleep?”mr Orpheus asked, his eyes fixed to the road “Yea, she is already” “Good thing we found her early” “We’re lucky,she’s much more beautiful than I thought”Orpheus grinned “I pray the kids love her” “Of course, they’ll love their sister”. The driving continued for hours. NEW YORK CITY-DUCHESS COUNTY Venus slowly opened her eyes and yawned, she sat uprightly and stared outside the window, the place she was now was strange, she rapped her hair in a ponytail and took out her phone, it was 6:35pm…. “You’re awake?”mrs Orpheus asked, Venus grinned “Uhm… ma’am, where are we?” “Oh, you finally spoke, what a lovely voice you have there. Well, we’re in New York, this is we’re you’ll be leaving with your new family now” Orpheus replied “She wasn’t talking to you”Mrs Orpheus said feigning annoyance. “Sorry my lady” Orpheus answered with a light bow. Venus chuckled. “So…. What would you call me?” Mrs Orpheus asked with a wide smile “Uhm… mum?” Venus answered with a raised brow. “Awwnn…. I love you so much Venus” “Okay. Cleo, kid, we’re almost home” Orpheus announced “Whose Cleo?” Venus asked “Don’t mind your father, that’s my real name, Cleopatra” Mrs Orpheus replied while Venus gave a short smile. Few hours later, the car drove past buildings, houses and Venus found herself in a forest, the car drove through a thin cleared road path, as they got deeper into the forest, Venus became panicked, she saw an old,rusty,signboard written on it was “CRYPTIC VALLEY”. She had a bad feeling about this and brought out her phone turning on her location, she set her call settings on emergency dial and waited patiently for any funny move. “Where are we?” She manages to ask, Cleopatra looked back slowly and gave a creepy smile. “Where are we?” She reiterated now with panic in her voice “Why is our home in a forest? Why does that signboard says cryptic valley? I don’t get it” She asked already raising her voice. “Come on Venus, be quiet ” Orpheus said in a husky tone and somewhat Venus became calm, Cleopatra slowly took her phone from her and threw it out the window as the tyre crushed it. CRYPTIC VALLEY Orpheus drove into a huge compound, standing inside the compound was a huge, tall, mansion, the building wasn’t painted, it looked old and creaked, the cracks on the wall made it dangerous for whoever it was to live in, just like it was in the old movies about a haunted ghost home, the whole compound was full of trees and scattered fallen leaves, vines creeped the mansion right from the bottom to the top of the house, it looked scary but it was more like a piece of anciency and fun. They all got down from the car, Venus stared at the place in surprise and bewilderment, she exhaled. “Are you okay?” Cleopatra jerked her out of her ocean of thoughts. “Uh… yea… yea, I’m fine” Venus replied Two men walked out of the building, they looked just like Orpheus, in dark suits, strange skin color and a weird look. At first, Venus got scared but later found out they were her Uncles. “Venus, meet your uncles, Antonius and Grayson” Orpheus introduced, Venus gave a wide smile, the two men grinned and whispered something to Orpheus which Venus found strange, he nodded and they all walked inside. The huge door opened widely with a creaky sound, Venus walked in and stared in awe and amusement of the mansion, there were old pictures hung on the old wall, strange structures and kinda creepy statues, the house was kinda dark, the only place light came from was an escape from a small crack in the window. “Guys, kids?” Cleopatra called A teenage of boy walked down the huge stairs, he tucked his hands in his pocket and stared plainly at Venus. He had an average length of hair which was not the normal haircut boys his age took, he was tall and built, his skin was way too smooth to be a normal human being’s, he had a perfect jawline and strong arms. Venus gulped and stared at the image right in front of her, it was impossible for someone to look this good. “Uh… Quinn, meet your new sister, Venus, Venus? Say hi” cleopatra said as she locked arms with Quinn. “Hi Quinn, I’m Venus ” she managed to say “Hey, nice meeting you”Quinn replied with a straight, short smile, Venus flushed “Where are your siblings?”Orpheus asked “Guys??….. a newbie’s here” he announced yelling as he got a chair to sit. Venus eyes widened as she counted the number of children that walked down the stairs into the living room… “Hey kids, meet your new sister, Venus”Cleopatra said, Venus blinked…. “Sor… sorry… but.. but are they all your… all your kids?” Venus managed to speak “Not really, meet Sophie, Eliana, Aphra, Georgios, Panthous, Minerva, Cauis, Aleck,Alvida, Angel,Fabia and Quinn” Cleopatra introduced pointing to each of them. Venus stared at all of them, some gave her a nice smile while some gave her a strict glare. “Are you okay?”Quinn asked “Yea yea… I’m good, hi, I’m Venus, nice meeting you all” Venus introduced herself with a forced smile. One of the girls with a dark oxblood hair walked up to her, she titled her head to the side of Venus’s neck and sniffed….. “Hmmm… Fresh blood” “Stop your madness Alvida” Quinn said with a husky tone “I don’t like her” Alvida blurted out and walked out. Venus grabbed her bag tight as she tried to conceal her heavy breathing, she had a bad feeling about this but could not find out what exactly this feeling was all about.
