Life as she knows it

She stares at him on the other side of the bed. She couldn't come clean on what she'd done, it'll hurt him but it hurts her keeping this secrets. He stirs and opens his eyes, "Hey babe,you ain't sleeping...is anything the matter"..he asked "No...I actually just woke up"...Draya replied. "OK...come closer...let me hold you"...Benjamin said. She still couldn't sleep, She loved him and she couldn't understand why she'd done what she'd done. He has been good to her ever since they started dating in high school. It has been three years and he had traveled across state lines so they could celebrate their anniversary. Of course she loves him...it can't be said that she doesn't. She would do anything for him and he would do the same for her, she was very sure of that. She drifted off to sleep with the thoughts still on her mind. She was awakened by the knock of one of her neighbors, they were contributing money to buy fuel and pump water as they hadn't seen light in days. She got up trying not to wake Benjamin and went to answer the door...and she was right...They were contributing money. They never failed to do that every morning so the question of who was knocking this early wasn't a mystery to her. She gave them her money and went back to lie down on her bed. She knew he was awake..he was always a light sleeper but she couldn't understand why he didn't say anything. She casually put her head on his chest and tried going back to sleep, it was a Saturday and she had nothing doing. Sure she had one class but any lecturer that sets a class on Saturday definitely isn't expecting her to show up..weekends are for her...This weekend is for them..Three years together was no small feat and she'd loved every moment of it. From the time she'd caught him staring at her when he came over to see her brother to when she'd kissed him first after he'd come looking for her brother and not finding him home and staying to wait for him. She had never had a problem being bold..she always knew what she wanted and always went for it...it is one of the reasons he loves her..left to him...they wouldn't have gotten together...she had made the first move and it had paid off greatly...until now.. "Good morning hun..." "Good morning...Who the f**k knocks this early at someone's door" She laughs "My neighbors...contributing again" "Hmm...OK...what are we gonna get for breakfast" "It's too early...I don't think anything will be open" He looks at his phone on his side of the bed.."It's 6:30...I'm sure akara and bread will be available...." "I don't think so" He laughs..."Just say you are too tired to get up" She chuckles..." You know me so well and you want me to say....plus...they usually come to our compound to announce themselves...we'll hear them" Almost immediately the words left her mouth did she hear those famous words from the sellers... "Akara and bread o...fresh Akara and bread o"..she admired them...their voices could travel up to her own floor... He smiled and looked at her "Should I go get it?.. "Hell yes...this babe ain't standing up from this bed anytime soon" "Lazy ass" He gets up and goes to his wallet to get the money...He proceeds to come back to the bed and kisses her on her forehead...She loves his forehead kisses. He opens the door and steps out then she hears him talking to someone...She can't mistake that voice "Hey..good morning...I didn't know you were around" "Yh...good morning...came in yesterday evening" "Is she in?" "Yh..She is in..still sleeping though" "OK...I'll check up on her later" She was glad not to be disturbed especially right now and by the person she was trying to avoid. They had shared one kiss...why wouldn't she let her be. She drifts back to sleep until she inhales her food...She was so hungry...and she needed to get the day started..they had anniversary plans..sightseeing and all that..she was going to push Lucy out of her mind...It was just one kiss with a neighbor..it didn't matter that that neighbor was female...she wasn't going to let it ruin their anniversary.
