Chapter 1 Then We Have a Deal
In the prison visiting room, a well-dressed woman handed Elizabeth Ford a black card. "Ten million dollars. Seduce my son."
Elizabeth took the card. She looked calm, though slightly puzzled.
She asked, "You went to all that trouble to track me down in prison—just to ask a convict to seduce your son?"
Her eyes locked on the woman, sharp and cold.
Two years in prison had made Elizabeth more cautious and tougher.
The offer was tempting, and she did need to get out of here to start her revenge. But that didn't mean she wanted to be someone else's weapon.
"Exactly," the woman said.
Hearing the answer, Elizabeth snorted. "Why me? Your son probably has a long line of women fighting to marry him, doesn't he?"
In fact, the woman in front of her was none other than Miranda Iverson, the wife of Trevor Iverson, the head of the Iverson family, a powerful underworld family.
In this territory, the Iverson family had all the power. Her son, Stephen Iverson, was practically every woman's dream. So why did she need a convict to seduce him?
Miranda took a deep breath. "Because my son is obsessed with a gold digger."
She handed Elizabeth a photo. "Ms. Ford. You know this person, don't you?"
Elizabeth touched the photo. Her fingers slowly tightened, but she said nothing.
Miranda said, "She's my son's girlfriend. She's been dragging him down for two years now. My brilliant son—trained since he was seven to lead the Iverson family, the one who single-handedly reclaimed Briarhold—and now he spends his days chasing after one woman. She acts all weak and pitiful. And she makes our family clean up all the stupid messes her family creates. I told them to break up. But Stephen would rather leave the family than leave her."
Miranda clutched her chest, nearly fainting. "I cannot let my son keep going like this."
Elizabeth looked at the photo. The face was familiar—Lorna James, her fake sister.
She tossed the black card onto the table. Under Miranda's hopeful gaze, her voice turned cold. "Then go handle her yourself. Why come to me?"
The air froze for a second. Miranda stepped closer, her eyes begging. "We came to you because we want you to take her on. Ms. Ford, have you forgotten why you're in prison?"
'Of course not.'
Elizabeth's expression hardened.
Five years ago, she needed money to save her adoptive father, Miguel Ford. By day, she worked as an apprentice at a law firm. By night, she had a part-time job. She finally scraped together the cash.
The surgery was right around the corner.
But the day before the operation, someone unplugged Miguel's respirator. He died on the spot—all because Lorna got lost at the hospital and Miguel didn't show her the way.
Lorna used her family's power to cover up the murder. And when Elizabeth went to the James Villa, she uncovered something even more insane—she was the biological daughter of Lester James and Joanna James.
They had known who she was all along. They never claimed her, and they let Lorna do whatever she wanted.
Elizabeth tore the James family apart, and they threw her in prison for it.
"Ms. Ford?" Miranda called out.
The memory faded. Elizabeth snapped back to reality.
Miranda said, "Look—if you were able to make Lorna spend that much effort to put you away, you must have something special. I'm begging you. Take care of her for me. Do this, and aside from the ten million, we'll also wipe your record clean—"
Elizabeth smiled and cut her off. "I want three hundred million dollars."
Miranda clenched her jaw. "Fine."
Elizabeth stood up. The photo of Lorna fell to the floor. She stepped on it and ground it under her shoe.
Then she held out her hand. "Then we have a deal."
Miranda shook it immediately. "Ms. Ford, how exactly do you plan to do this?"
Seducing a man wasn't easy.
But Lorna had already given Elizabeth the answer.
Stephen loved Lorna's weak, pitiful act. He had no idea how cruel she really was.
So Elizabeth would expose Lorna for what she was.
And her?
Elizabeth smiled. "I'll be even weaker and more pitiful than Lorna."

Two days later, in the classroom, Lorna looked sullen. Her friends were on their phones when suddenly someone shouted, "A transfer student is joining our class. She's the Iverson family's new adopted daughter. And she's the same age as Lorna..."
The speaker's voice trailed off. Finally, she said what everyone was thinking. "Are they basically raising her to be Stephen's fiancée?"
Everyone's eyes turned to Lorna.
"Lorna, what's going on? You and Stephen are... Why would his family do this?" one of them asked.
Lorna lowered her head. She gave a bitter smile. "Please don't ask. I don't know either. Maybe Stephen really does have a new sister."
Her act worked perfectly. Everyone immediately jumped to defend her.
"New sister? More like a new lover. Everyone knows Lorna and Stephen have been together for two years. This 'sister' is obviously a homewrecker."
"We need to teach her a lesson. Show her Stephen is out of her league."
Lorna looked worried. "Please don't go threaten Stephen's sister because of me. Maybe she's innocent, too."
She started to cry. "Miranda has never approved of me. She thinks I come from a failed family, and I'm not good enough for Stephen. If she finds out her new girl is being treated badly, she'll be even more furious."
Her best friend, Laura Estes, exchanged glances with the others. "Lorna, don't worry. This is our choice. You have nothing to do with it."
They thought they were doing the right thing. But Lorna watched them and smiled to herself.
'Still using other people to do her dirty work. Still keeping her own hands clean. Same old Lorna.'
Elizabeth stood outside the window, watching everything with great interest.
But really—after all these years, was Lorna still using the same tricks?
'So cheap. So outdated.'
Once everyone inside had finished setting things up, Elizabeth walked calmly to the door.
Whispers filled the room, excited and cruel.
"Here she comes. Here she comes."
Elizabeth pretended not to notice. She pushed the door open.
A split second later, a basketball came flying and slammed into her head.
Elizabeth took the blow. She held her head, her body trembling slightly.
Laura was the first to curse. "You pathetic homewrecker. You actually showed up. Get lost. You're not welcome here."
The others joined in.
"What sister? Just because Miranda took you in, you think you can get between Lorna and Stephen? Look at yourself."
Their voices were sharp and cruel. Elizabeth said nothing. To them, her silence looked like guilt.
Lorna waited until the insults died down. Then she stood up, her face full of concern. "Hey, are you okay? I'm sorry. When they heard you got adopted, they thought you were trying to come between Stephen and me. They were just defending me. Please don't blame them. If you're angry, be angry at me."
Elizabeth slowly lowered her hand.
And finally, everyone saw her face.
