DENI’S POV Deni grumbled as she packed her things up. The sheer of it all. The nightmare. She wanted to wake up. Smash her head with a piece of wood and wake up. “So you are really leaving us then?” Jade said siting down on the bed. All her four sisters were here. And it seemed they had gathered to apologise and bid her farewell on her new life. Initially when they had come, not one of them had said a word, instead they had just helped her pack her things up. She knew what was in their minds. They were sorry that she was going. They were all going to miss her yes, but then they were each glad that it was not them that had just gotten married. It was Jade who has finally spoken up. “I am not quite sure. It is quite possible that I am just packing my things to throw them out of the window do you not think?” Deni said with such sarcasm. Jade closed her mouth shut and Deni became guilty. She sighed and apologised. “I apologise for my tone of words, but I am in a terrible frame of mind.” “Oh I am not angry with you.” Jade said. “Neither of us are.” “The thing is we are ashamed that you have yourself up for us even though we have been the worst siblings to you.” Genevieve said. “I mean I am the oldest, but then I always act like the last.” Deni waved her hand at what she was being told. “You all know that is not true. You did hear what he had said after all. He had already chosen me.” “But still Deni.” Elena said. “You did what none of us would ever had. Including Genevieve.” Lana said and Genevieve frowned. “Surely you are not going to go with all your things.” Elena said. “Where would you get to put them?” “I would gather all your things and send them to you in a week or so.” Genevieve stepped in, now taking her rightful place as the eldest daughter. “How are you going to manage with that man?” Lana asked. “Will you two have children together?” Jade asked. “Children?!!!” Deni gasped. “I have not even been married to the man for a full day and yet you are speaking of children.” “Well is that not what married people do?” Jade rose a brow. “Have children?” Deni had not thought of things this far. In fact, she had barely even thought of anything. Was she supposed to have children? She knew she would wed one day, although she had never really considered it. If she did wed, who would take care of her father. The irony that she was being the first to leave the house. She had always assumed that she would be the last. “Would you three stop bringing conversations like these up?” Genevieve snapped at the girls. “We do not mean to be causing any trouble of the sort, we were just worried for Deni.” Lana pouted. “For all we know she might be sleeping in the cold.” Elena said. “Do they have houses to live in?” Jade asked. “I heard that they eat their meat raw.” Lana said. “They never cook them.” “Did you see what They were wearing?” Elena asked. “Skirts! They were wearing skirts and showing off their thighs. How very unmanly!” “If they were skirts I wonder what their women wear.” Jade said and all the four sisters were deep in thought, including Genevieve who had disapproved in the beginning. “If you would not find it in your place to be silent, then I would very much prefer it if you kept your thoughts to yourself.” Deni said irritated. “Oh do not be so angry please.” Lana apologised. “It is just that we have no idea on how the Scottish actually live.” “Well there is a mini army of them downstairs, it would do well if you asked them yourselves.” Deni said. The door swung open and their servant Hildegard came in. “My ladies, forgive me, but your father pleads you to hurry downstairs.” She said in a state of panic. “Your Future errr Uhmm husband is in a frantic state waiting for you downstairs.” They all heard some growling downstairs and Deni smiled. Just before she was about to speak to the servant, they heard loud noises on their roof. Noises of what sounded like rain. Very heavy rain. “Look it is raining now.” Genevieve said at the window. “Rain? In October?” Deni snorted. “That is impossible.” “But it is come see!” Genevieve said. All the girls went to the window. It was truly a heavy downpour. “Maybe it is a sign from God for you to not travel today.” Jade said as she had her face stamped against the window glass. “With such weather it is impossible for you to make a journey today.” Lana said reasonably. “But then your husband would refuse.” Jade said. “He wishes not to sleep here in England.” “He must really like and miss his village.” Lana and Jade chuckled. “A journey on the rain would be most certainly impossible.” Deni said thoughtfully as she walked away from them mirror. Then she smiled. There was loud yelling from downstairs beneath them. They did not need to be told twice that that was Deni’s new husband. She turned around and smiled. “Sisters it is like I am to spend one more night at home.”
