ALARIC’S POV Then she came up and stood in front of her sisters. “I would not let you take away any of my sisters.” She stated stubbornly He rose a brow at her words. “Deni!” The Earl of York said in shock “I stand in for my sisters. Take me instead.” She said bravely, ignoring her father. He smirked. So she was the hero now. She thought she could be bold now didn’t she? Well he’d already made his choice. Then he walked up to her and stood in her very before, looked down at her with his mean eyes and ever handsome face. “There’ll be no need for that.” He stated. “I’m already taking you for my wife.” And then he saw the shock in her eyes. She thought she was smart didn’t she? He could not wait to tame her until she finally came begging to him. She started to stammer and stutter. “I don’t understand.” She said. He liked the fact that he had rendered her speechless. “It simple.” He said. “I have chosen to have you for my wife.” She blinked. She had not been expecting this. She had assumed that her saying that would make him deter his options. If he saw that he was matched with someone like her, then he would not need to come back. He would go away. She knew that he did not want to marry any of them. Surely, no Scott would want to be with an English. And for life for that. “But you do not wish to marry me.” She said. “You do not even like me.” He rose up from his chair and walked to her. He looked down at her and this time, he smiled. But it was the meanest smile she had ever seen. A smile that said he got what he wanted. “I might not like you.” He said in her ear. “But I have some other plans up my sleeve.” And then she felt a cold shiver down her spine. Then he turned to her father. “Gather her things.” Alaric said to her father. “We are to leave today.” Her eyes widened in shock. “Today?!” Everyone gasped. The Earl wanted to faint. “A minute longer in this place and I shall. Surely lose my mind.” He said. “I would never marry you!” She said. “You will.” He said. “You already did tell us you wished to marry me a few minutes ago.” “Curse you I did not mean it!” Deni raked in anger. The Earl would have fainted on the spot. Since when did his daughter know how to curse. “Once we are wed I would cut that tongue of yours.” He said. “Why Not do it now?” She said sticking out her tongue at him. Alaric’s men murmured. “And I would not marry you.” She said. “Intimidation does not work in me unfortunately for you.” He walked up to her and stood in front of her. There were barely an inches between the both of them. If either of them took a step further, her head would be under his neck. “You will marry me.” He spat. She laughed. “I would like to see you try.” An hour later, the local priest was standing in front of a grudging bride to be and a terrifying but handsome man. The priest swallowed as he read the contents of his bible. “Get on with it!” The groom snapped. “Oh yes hmmm sure.” The priest nodded as he hastily moved on to the exchange of vows. He was scared that the man would smash him to the ground. “Do you......” He turned to the groom. “Alpha Alaric.” He said. “Ehmmm Do you Alpha Alaric Take This lovely woman to be your lawfully we- “I do!” He snapped. The priest hurriedly carried on to the future bride. “Do you Lady Deni take this man to be your lawfully wedded hus- “She does.” Alaric answered for her. The priest and the bride looked at him in horror. “You did not even let me speak!” She hissed. “I believe sir she must speak.” The priest managed. “What is the bloody need?” The groom asked. “She was going to say yes anyway. I only wish to make it faster for us.” “When did your name become Deni?” She asked him. “Are you questioning my authority?” He snapped back at her. She snorted at him. “We are yet to be wed and here you are with your heads in the cloud about your masculine superiority. How rich my lord.” “I am your superior.” He said matter of factly. The priest wanted to make a very fast escape. “With all these your bickering, I assure you, that you will sleep on English soil till tomorrow.” She said and his face grew tight. She was using this against him. She knew that he did not want to stay here and do she was using this as leverage to mock him. He squeezed his face and gave the shaking priest a stare. “You May carry on.” He said in annoyance. He tapped his foot in irritation as he waited for the priest to finish his talk. Then he finally reached the end. “Do you Lady Deni take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?” Both the priest and Alaric looked at her, waiting for her answer. She looked at him. She refused to speak. “Are you being forced?” The priest asked Alaric. Why was he even asking? Even if she was, no one was going to intervene. So he shut his mouth and minded his business. “I... i... i..... i...” She stammered. Alaric pinched her and she squealed loudly in pain. “That was a yes.” Alaric said. The priest did not even bother countering them. “I now pronounce you husband and wife.” He said. “You May kiss the bride.” The Priest doubted there was going to be any kissing here at all. Alaric Jacked his new wife down the aisle. “Get your things we are leaving now.” He said.
