DENI’S POV Deni watched as Alaric went on his own. When she was sure that he was out of sight and be unable to hear anything she said, she swore. “Bloody Scottish man.” She grumbled as she struggled to put her tent. She had never set a tent before. Once she had seen it, and also seen how the other men were doing it, she had assumed that it was going to be easy for her. What a joke she had been in for. After long minutes of bending and struggling to make her tent stand, she had still not gone anywhere. Her arm hurt from it being too much in the air. She sighed exasperated and brought her arms. Who was going to help her? None of the men seemed friendly, in fact they did not even like her. She turned and saw one of Alaric’s men. She had seem earlier and he had seemed far younger than anyone of them. What was more, she had seen that he had been sent around by the other. “Hello.” She called out to him. He looked around and then he touched his chest. “Me?” He said. She nodded. “Yes you.” She said. “May you please come?” He looked around again and then he came to her. “Yes?” “What is your name?” She asked him. “Richard.” “Richard.” She said testing the name on her lips. “Well I was wondering if you could possibly help me here. My tent.” “You would not stay in the Alpha Alaric’s tent?” He asked in shock. “If I planned to, I doubt I would have asked you to assist me in setting up my tent.” She said. He looked around again, like a thief and then nodded. He helped her set up the tent. “Thank you very much.” When he was done, he came down and said. “Do you mind if I ask you a question?” “Sure.” She said. “Why will you not stay in his tent.” He asked. Deni said nothing to that. “But you two are married are you not?” He asked her. “Dragging a priest and waking him up from sleep to wed a couple is hardly something that I would refer to as marriage.” She said. “Many women are dying to be with Lord Alaric.” He told her. “Oh really?” She rose a brow. “We’ll do you know what? I happen to not be other women.” He said nothing and then. “My lady your tent would not stay. It is too weak and I assure you that it would surely fall while you sleep. That is if it takes you that long.” She grabbed her clothes bundle and smiled at him. “Thank you very much for you care Richard, but I think that I would be just fine on my own.” After Richard had set her tent for her and gone, Alaric came by. “My favourite goat.” He said to her. Deni became red with embarrassment, but ignored me. “Your tent is doomed to fail.” He assured her. She ignored his statement and cleared He throat. “If you would excuse me now, I wish to take a walk around and look for a place where I can take my bath. My body aches.” She said. “Have you any idea how dangerous it is for you to go out alone?” He asked. “There are robbers by the corner and lonely girl like you bathing naked is no new news to them.” “I can not have my own bath now!” She yelled in further irritation. “You are not going anywhere without me.” He stated blankly. “I need my privacy.” She argued. “Like hell you do.” He said. “One second alone and you are going to go missing. We both know that.” “Lucky enough for you.” He continued. “I had been strolling around and then I came across a certain lake just down. But I would have to take you there.” She started to protest. “You would not die by my hand.” He warned. “At least not before I bed you.” She swallowed. Bed her? She started to shake instantly as she realised that he expected to ‘bed her’ She barely knew anything when it came to a man and woman being together. Her father had banned books contains such information and thereby she had remained handicapped in that aspect. “Grab your clothes.” He told her. “Who would cook tonight’s meal?” She asked him. “It would have been you, but I do not take it well for my wife to be cooking for my men.” He said. “All you shall do, shall be for me and me alone.” He threw her bundle at her and said. “Let us be on our way shall we?”
