ALARIC’S POV
After a long tiring journey on the road, Alaric called for them to make camp.
“It is still quite bright.” She said. “Why would you wish we make camp now?”
“Must you always ask so much questions?” He asked her.
She pouted.
“Has anyone ever told you that?” He asked her.
“What?” She said already in the Defense.
“That you ask too much questions?” He said. “Your mouth US always running like a tap. I had assumed that all English women were delicate and never spoke unless they were spoken to.”
“Glad you said all British women.” She countered. “I am happy that my name is not ‘all British women’ that way I am not classified as having to behave in the same way.”
“Women Are supposed to be obedient.” He said as they rode on. “
“Women Are human beings and should have their minds of their own as men.” She said arrogantly.
“You dare not compare a woman with a man.” He said.
“And you.....
She was about to use his exact words by saying dare, but then she had obviously been smart enough to think against it for she quickly changed her statement.
“Well men are not to be compared with women.” She said.
“If Not for men women would not even be able to survive.” He said reasonably.
“If Not for women men would not even be born.” She countered.
Alaric blinked at his new wife and in her eyes, he saw a glint of victory in her eyes.
“Can you weird a sword?” He asked her. “Can you fight a war? Can you kill a msn or a beast?”
She shook her head. “No, but can you give birth to a child?”
“Why would I give birth to a child?” He asked her in horror.
“Because we are trying to discover which is the stronger gender. The man or the woman.” She said. “The pains women go through, to give birth is out of this world. Men would never be able to even contain it.”
“You speak nonsense.” He said.
“I speak nothing but the truth.” She said.
Then Daniel and Shane’s horse were sighted from afar returning back to them.
“My Lord I found a good and safe area where we can make tent.” He said once he had come to them.
“How far along?” Alaric asked.
“We would be there before sundown.” Shane said.
They rode on and soon reached the camping ground.
When they made camp, Deni tried to prepare her own tent.
What was the woman doing this time again? Alaric wondered.
He watched in amusement as she struggled to set her tenth straight.
It would have been funny if not for the fact that he was genuinely confused as to why she was struggling with a tent.
Alaric walked up to her and grabbed her arm. He whirled her around and made her to face him.
“What the devil do you think you are doing?” He hissed.
“I wish to make my own tent.” She said. “What? Am I not allowed to sleep under a tent?”
“You must have a lot going on in that small head of yours.” He said.
If they were not even careful, he was going to eventually break that small head of hers.
She pouted at him. “Let me go I am tired and I wish to make my bed.”
“You are my wife and you are going to sleep in the main tent which is mine.” He stated jabbing his finger at the already massive tent that had been lain out for him.
She laughed in his face. “If you think that I would spend a night with you under a roof, then you must be out of your mind.”
“Do not think you are going to insult me in front of my men.” He hissed at her. “Think again. Drop this foolish act and come to my tent.”
His men were going about. He did not want them to see that he was involved in an exchange with his new wife.
It would be shameful and embarrassing.
As her master he had to put her in her place. That was a husband’s job and the woman had to be completely submissive to him.
But Deni? What a joke that would be.
Deni was relentless and Defiant. She did exactly what she wanted to do.
He had literally known his wife for just two days and he knew exactly what she could and could not do.
And the worst part was that nothing scared her.
That was what worried him.
She jerked her arm free of his grasp.
“I will do no such thing.” She said squaring his eyes directly with her. “You May do your worst but I would never concede.”
He smiled at her.
“Let us see shall we?” He asked her through vet dark eyes.
She eyed him and then he left her.
